Stacked Fishtail Braid

In our Christmas Lookbook I was wearing a stacked braid. And I already mentioned in that post how popular this hairstyle is lately, it's all over the internet. I also linked a tutorial of a stacked fishtail braid, but I felt like it needed its own post too. :) Mainly because Luxy Hair created a tutorial with a different technique that's a lot easier. But also because it's always fun to make a spin on a trend. A stacked braid is already very special and pretty, but you will stand out even more wearing a stacked fishtail braid.

So these are the two different kinds of ways to create a stacked fishtail braid. In the first video of Cute Girls Hairstyles, Mindy teached you to create a 3D fishtail braid and than fan out the back braid, to be left with this stacked braid. While Mimi of Luxy Hair just creates two fishtail braids, one big and one small, in her video and than pin them on top of each other. The first technique is maybe a  lot more complicated, but you won't be having any bobby-pin-problems. But with the second technique you can play more around with it and try hairstyles out like this one: 

You can make a dutch braid and afterwards pin a small fishtail braid on top of it. So you have a lot more options with Mimi's way of making a stacked fishtail braid. But it's definitely worth it to try both once.
