Lookbook: Our New Year's Eve Look

Hi,

Happy New Year's Eve! We hope you all have a very fun evening! And also a happy 2015! We can't believe another year passed by... It went all so fast. Today we're going to share with you our looks for tonight.

Femke chose to wear her peplum top of Bershka tonight. She really loves peplum tops: it's so girlish and cute, but can also look very festive and chic. She has been wishing for a white peplum top for a long time, so when she saw this one in Bershka she was very happy and bought it right away. Like we said peplum tops can look chic, but Femke wanted a more casual/boho kind of look. She chose to wear her jeans of H&M to make this look more casual. And to make it more a boho look she layered these two golden necklaces of Six. She is also wearing a ring with silver and gold, that's actually vintage, so she can't tell you where it's from. And the bracelet she is wearing is from Mini In The Box. She kept her hair lose with her natural messy curls, for once again a more boho kind of look. Femke is going to spend her New Year's Eve at home, so that's why once again she isn't wearing special shoes. But let's say if she would go outside she will wear these slip-on sneakers of H&M. They are maybe a bit too cold for the weather in Belgium right now, but if she would go outside it would be just to see the fireworks, so she wouldn't stay long in the cold anyway.

Maia is wearing a red dress with aztec-print. She bought it at Primark last year and she loves the shape of it. It has a very wide, loose skirt, which makes it looks more festive. She's also wearing regular black tights. She probably won't be going outside a lot tonight, so a thin pair was good enough. She chose to wear her high-heeled black boots from H&M again, because she loves how they make her legs look longer. Also they really suit the style of her dress. For her nails she decided to make some special glitter nail art. She did it with a tutorial from Cutepolish, wich we posted on monday. She didn't have any silver glitter, so she used gold. It was a bit more difficult then she thought it would be, but as you see, it worked out quite good. Apart from a small gold ring she bought at Primark, she's not wearing any jewelry. She wanted to do something special with her hair, so she tryed some kind of braided updo. First she made with two french braids, then she putted them across her head and secured it with a couple of bobbypins.

Glitter Nail Art

Untitled
Hi,

Time for another sparkly post! Last week we had two posts on how to create a sparkly New Years look and the only thing left to do to finish off your look, is your nails! About a month ago we made a post with Christmas nail art where you can get some inspiration from, but today we found something way more suiting for New Year's eve! New Year's eve is all about glitter, so we were happy to see this video from Cutepolish about glitter nail art. It's a very easy tutorial, but it looks beautiful!
Here it is:

Fashionable boots for snow and rain

Hi,

In Belgium it has been snowing and we're pretty sure there are some other countries with snow at this moment. So we thought it was about time to show you some fashionable boots you can wear in the snow. But these boots are of course perfect for the rain too.

The first kind of boots you can wear when it's snowing or raining and who still look very fashionable are the wellies of Hunter. You probably all already heard of this brand, because they sell the most popular wellies. They are a bit more on the pricey side, but they're also a very good quality, so we think they're worth the money. Here are some of our favourites at the moment:

Of course we choose first for the most popular red and black wellies, that you can by the way get either glossy or matte, either short or tall and in every color you want. And than we choose more special ones. But if you still think these wellies aren't cute enough for you, you can buy one of there socks:

These you can get again in many different colors and lengths. They don't only make your boots look a lot more pretty, but they're also a lot warmer, which is perfect for when it's snowing!

The next kind of boots that work for the snow and rain and still look very fashionable are Dr Martens. We know... Another brand... But these boots are again very well made and are definitely worth the price. Of course you have pick the plastic ones instead of the leather ones, because leather can't really handle rain and snow. We picked ones again some of our favourite Dr Martens at this moment:

VEGAN 1460
We picked again first the red and black boots, because these are the most popular colors for wellies (even though Dr Martens aren't really wellies...). The 3rd one is just another glossy plastic one and we just really liked this barbie pink color. But the 4rd one is a bit more special, because it's a matte plastic one, which you don't see that often in Dr Martens. And the last one is of there vegan collection, which makes it also water proof!

These are just two very fashionable brands that do water and snow resistant boots, but of course you can find many cheaper remakes.

DIY Lipgloss

Hi,

This year Maia got an amazing Christmas gift from a friend: DIY Lipgloss!
We didn't even know you could make lipgloss yourself until then, and especially not good one. But the lipgloss she got is actually as good as most other lipglosses she has. The main content is Vaseline, so it has the same texture and is equally good (if you want to know the uses of Vaseline, check out this post). As you see she coloured it pink and added an aroma to it. It doesn't give that much color to your lips, but most lipglosses are rather sublte so Maia doesn't mind.
Oh and the cute little M was made with a toothpick.

Maia hasn't got the recipe with which her friend made the lip balm, but she found a similar recipe on Pinterest. In the tutorial below they use beewax instead of Vaseline and lipstick shavings instead of pigment, so we don't know if it'll be as good. You can probably just replace the beewax in this recipe by Vaseline.

How To Wear Glitter Make-Up

Hi,

Yesterday we posted our favorite sparkly things for your New Year's outfit, but to complete this sparkly look glittering make-up is a must.
We found a picture on WeHeartIt that shows you how to wear glitter eye make-up in 4 ways:

TUTORIAL + PHOTOGRAPHY BY AMY NADINE, GRAPHIC DESIGN BY EUNICE CHUN

The first look is very subtle, you just have to add a tiny bit of glitter to the inner corner of your eyes.
The second look is the same Michelle Phan showed you in her video 'The Golden Hour', which we included in our  post about party make-up that we made last week. Make sure to check that post out too by the way, so you can complete your look.
In the next picture she used glitter to draw a thin line. It's also more of a subtle look, but still more eye-catching than the first look.
We like the last look the most! Ombre is in fashion in every way, and glitter makes it even better. We suppose this is also the look that's the hardest to recreate, but we think it'll work out great when you just smear the glitter out a little, starting from below.
We love how each look is so special, but at the same time really simple.

A Sparkly New Years Look

☆

Hi,

First of all: merry Christmas everyone! And because it's Christmas today, it doesn't mean we can't think about our New Year's outfit jet! New Year is the only day where it's cool to wear sparkly, glittery clothes. So you should go crazy with the glitters this New Year's Eve! To help you create your perfect sparkly new year's look, we selected some of our favourite glittery things you can buy in the shops at this moment:

luxeeffects - effects by essie
If you're not so much into glittery stuff, than maybe a glitter nail polish is enough for you. We think this one of Essie looks absolutly gorgeous! It costs € 12,50.

Hayden Bandeau Sequin Maxi Dress
If you feel a bit more daring, then you would maybe like this dress. We think it looks so pretty and chic! And we can promise you you will look amazing in this dress! You can buy it at Boohoo.com for € 50,00. But there are sales going on on Boohoo, which makes this cost only € 26,00. And you don't need to worry that it won't be on time, because Boohoo delivers always very fast, except if you don't live in Europe.

Darci Woven Cowel Back Sequin Mini Dress
Another pretty sparkly dress of Boohoo is for example this one. But this dress is a bit more a party dress. This one cost € 50,00 too, but now only € 26,00.

If you're not such a dress type of girl than you might like this cropped top covered with glitters. It's from Forever 21 and cost € 21,00. But in Forever 21 there are sales too, which makes this top only € 14,99.

We also really like this sparkly dress of Forever 21. This dress costs € 33,50.

Afbeelding 3 van GLITTERBOX van Zara
In Zara we found this glittery clutch. A subtle thing like this can make your outfit a lot more festive too.

Afbeelding 2 van GLITTER BALLERINA van Zara
If you like to have the focus on your feed, than these shoes might be for you. You can buy them in Zara for € 29,95.

Black Glitter Pointed Court Shoes | New Look
If you feel more like wearing heels on New Year's Eve then we got these heels of New Look for you. They cost € 29,99, but because of the sales now only € 15,00!

Wide Fit Gold Glitter Strap Ankle Strap Heels | New Look
If you want to go for a little less sparkle, then you might like these shoes more. They are again of New Look. First they would have cost you € 17,99, but now only € 9,00!

We hope you could find something you like to sparkle the whole night in! And also: look how much sales there are already! Even though it's maybe a bit to late to buy your new year outfit, it will cost you a lot less!

Lookbook: Our Christmas Look

🎄

Hi,

If you don't really know your outfit for tomorrow yet, then you might find some inspiration in our christmas looks that we will show you today in this post.

Femke chose to wear a christmas sweater on Christmas Day. Her christmas sweater is from Boohoo. She loves the christmas print: it has reindeers, candy canes, snowflakes, snowmans and christmas trees all over it. But to make her outfit a bit more festive instead of cozy, she chose to wear her grey skater skirt of H&M with her christmas sweater tucked in. Because the weather here in Belgium isn't very warm she will wear normal black tights. These are from H&M. Her hair is in a stacked braid, which is a big trend lately. This hairstyle is all over the internet. But many people don't know how to do this. Well, it's basically a 3D split braid (we will link a tutorial on how to to that here) where you make the bottom braid bigger by fanning it out. It's like this tutorial (link here) of a stacked fishtail braid, but then with a regular tree-strand braid. Femke is loving this hairstyle too, even though her hair is to fine to get lots of volume out of it. It's not really showing of that pretty on the pictures, but believe us: this works with fine hair too. She didn't chose to wear any accessoires, but she did put a black bow on the end of her braid to make it look a bit cuter. She bought this bow in H&M. And since she is probably staying inside the whole day, celebrating with her family, she didn't plan on wearing any shoes. But if she would go outside she would pick some normal black flats.

Maia chose to wear a Christmas sweater too, but combined with a legging instead of a skirt. Her sweater is from New Look (we showed you already in last years Chistmas Sweater post). It's a really warm and cosy one :) Her basic grey legging is from Zara. As you see she's wearing a rather casual outfit so that's why she decided to lay more focus on accessories and jewelry.  Last week she bought a set of rings in Primark, and this was the perfect occasion to wear them already :) She's wearing silver nail polish that goes with the silvery-white stones in her rings. Maia's wearing her hair loose because she wanted to wear a hat today. The hat's from H&M and costed only €5 :o She loves the kind of retro look of it. It makes every outfit a bit more chic. She's wearing black high-heeled boots, also from H&M.
Sorry for the bad quality of the pictures by the way, but Maia didn't have much time today.. That's also why her outfit isn't that special...

We wish you all a wonderful christmas tomorrow, with lots of family, friends and happiness!

xoxo
