Femke's Favorite Instagram Accounts

Hi,

Today I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite instagrammers. I love Instagram. I just love to see the beautiful pictures of other people and what they've been up to lately. It also really inspires me for my own style. So if you want to know who I think you must follow, keep reading:

@alexcentomo

Alex her instagram account is probably my favorite out of all! I just love all her pictures! I think she is my biggest fashion icon. Her style is just perfection (I know that's kind of a weird word, but that's the only way I can describe it...). And it's not only her bohemian outfits that inspire me, but also her beautiful hair.

@evelina

Evelina Barry is another person that I think has a very inspiring (I'm sorry, but I'm probably going to use the words 'inspiring' and 'inspiration' a couple of times in this post...) style.

@amberfillerup

Amber Fillerup always has the most beautiful hairstyles! I love to look at her hairstyles and recreate them myself. But besides hair pictures, she also posts lots of cute pictures of her family (which is obviously a bonus!).

@brandymelvilleusa

Oh, if you didn't know it yet: I love Brandy Melville! Their clothes just totally suit my style. I love to look at their pictures and see what's new, but also get inspiration for how to combine my own pieces of Brandy Melville.

@subdued

Subdued's instagram account just has the most beautiful pictures of their clothes and other items! I really enjoy looking at them.

@urbanoutfitters

If you like We Heart It (then check out our account and...), you're going to love Urban Outfitters' instagram account! They don't only post beautiful pictures of their clothes and other products, but they also post other gorgeous We Heart It type of pictures.

These were my favorite instagram accounts that I think you must follow these days!

Maia's Lookbook: my Christmas Ball Look

Hi,

To celebrate the end of the exams, me and some of my friends went to a Christmas Ball. The dresscode was classy, so I did my best do dress as fancy as possible! Since I didn't have a real classy dress I went shopping for a whole new outfit.

The most important part of my outfit was of course the dress. I bought it at Zara and it was about €40. It doesn't look that great on the picture, but it's actually a real beautiful dress. As you can see it has an open back, which is what I like most about the dress. It took me a while to find a dress I like, but I think I really found the perfect one now!

Something I never had, but miss every time I go to a party, is a classy clutch. So I went looking for one to match my new dress and came over this one from Six. It's a rather simple one, but that's alright since my dress is already a bit eyecatching. It has a golden strap made out of little chains and it looked very firm to me at first but in fact it broke like three times during the evening! Pretty embarassing... I managed to fix it again, but I still think the quality isn't that good, especially since this bag costed me around €20.

I didn't buy new shoes, but my black high-heels matched my outfit perfectly. I regretted my choice after  a while because they hurt a bit when you stand up a long time, but yet they really completed the outfit. And let's be honest: you can't dress classy without high-heels!

I didn't wear any jewelry because I also didn't want to be too showy and I also kept my nails pretty simple. I decided to do a french manicure and added a couple of nail art stickers from Essence.

Hope I inspired you and hope you can look just as classy on all your holiday parties ;)

De Tuinen Rose Scrub Cream

Hi,

Today I'm going to review this rose scrub cream from a brand called De Tuinen. This brand focusses more on natural ingredients, which I'm all about! And I've never tried a scrub cream before, so it was something exciting for me to try out!

It smells very good, well if you like the smell of roses, you will definitely love this (and I'm a roses kind of girl, so I really like it)!

Like the name of this product already gives away: it has a very creamy texture. It almost feels like a body lotion for in the shower, which sounds kind of weird, but I like it! This does make it a very soft scrub. I wouldn't use it for my weekly scrub session, but more as an in-between scrub to use to pamper myself after a long day.

I don't really know if it effects my skin at all, because my skin is simple non-stop soft and healthy now that I started using baby oil. But it's very gentle and great for sensitive skin. And it's full of awesome ingredients, so it probably does effect my skin somehow!

Essence Nail Advent Calender

Hi,

For my birthday I got this advent calendar of Essence dedicated to nails. It takes me back to my early childhood years, when I always got chocolate advent calendars. It was always such an exciting moment of the day when I got to open it. This one is obviously very exciting too. As you would have expected, it concludes a lot of nail polishes:

I love that there is a huge variety of colors. You have very wintery colors, but also a few summery colors. And there even were some special nail polishes as well, that I'm definitely going to review one of these days:

This is an ombre topcoat. I've never heard of something like this, but I'm very excited to try it out! I've always wanted to try out an ombre nail art, but never got up to it. I hope this works!

Another special nail polish is this snowflake topcoat. This one I've actually already tried out and it looks very cute! It really does give my nails this snowy effect.

I also got a jelly flakes topcoat, that I'm very excited about to try it out as well.

This galaxy lights topcoat looks just beautiful. I don't think this one is that special, it's probably just a glitter topcoat, but it looks still beautiful.

Lastly I got this sparkling matt topcoat. I don't even know how that would work: a sparkling matt? But I'm excited to try it out!

Honestly, Essence nail polish isn't that great... But when I apply my Essie base and topcoat it lasts a lot longer! (just a little tip for you)

Every Sunday I got something else than a nail polish:

One of the things I got was this super cute nail file in the form of a cosy sock.

Another Sunday I got this nail file in the form of a gingerbread man, how cute can it get?

I also got these nail stickers. You even have some reindeers in there! I'm definitely going to decorate my nails with these on christmas day!

And than today, the last day of the advent calendar, I got this golden glittery bag:

Actually I think this bag is the least exciting thing out of all, but well I'm very happy with all the things I got in this advent calendar!

Spotted: Léa Seydoux

Hi,

 The beautiful actress Léa Seydoux was spotted in this fabulous outfit.
There isn't much to say about this look because it's actually just really simple. The key item in this look is the dress of course. She chose a plain white Prada dress and topped of her look with some bright red accessories.
Personally I'm not such a fan of her belt but I must admit that it  looks great on the dress. Her nails and lipstick are also perfectly bright red.

Yves Rocher Nutri-Repair Hair Mask

Hi,

You probably all know by now that I love Yves Rocher. Especially their hair products, since their Nutrition Hair Repair Balm is my absolute favorite hair product ever. So I wanted to try some of their other hair products too. Hair maks are usually pretty expensive, but the ones from Yves Rocher have a reasonable price, so I decided to try one of them out! I got this nutrition and repair one, which suits my dry and frizzy hair perfectly.

Honestly, I'm not the biggest fan of its smell. Not that it smells bad or anything, it's just not my type of scent. But besides that I really do like this hair mask! It makes my hair very shiny and soft. I wouldn't call it a miraculous wonder product, but it's pretty nice. I have the feeling it really does benefit my hair.

So I do recommend it as a once-in-a-while hair treatment!

Shoplog: Birthday Gifts and December Shopping

Hi,

It was my birthday in november and I really wanted to show you some of the fashion/beauty related things I got. I also bought some cute stuff with my birthday money that I want to share with you as well. So here are the new things that I got:

From a couple of friends I kindly got these Christmas printed nail files from Primark. Aren't they just adorable? I always love to get in the Christmas spirit by having all these Christmas themed things. Well, they just know me to well, because they also know how much I enjoy doing my nails! They actually got me a bunch of nail type of products, like for example the fake nails I recently reviewed.

My mom always lets me pick a clothing item online for my birthday. This year I chose this cosy cardigan from Vero Moda that Asos sells. I love it lots. And you can combine it with almost everything!

I also think it's very cool that this cardigan looks grey, but when you look closely you can see that it's actually a knit of black and white! It's all in those little details for me!

With my birthday money I got myself these purple Sperry's. I was in need of a pair of new comfy shoes and I think these are just perfect! I actually wanted to get the baby blue and pink colored ones, but I feel you can combine these easier and they're also just a bit more different since I normally don't really wear purple. Okay, I got to admit that boat shoes aren't really something you need to buy in the winter, but they were on sale on Sperry's site, so I obviously had to buy them! I think I got them for something like € 60,00, but I just checked their online shop and now they're only € 48,00!

My grandmother gave me this gorgeous ring. Not just for my birthday, but to spoil me a little bit. You can't really tell, but it's actually a rose golden ring with little pink stones. I love it and I've been wearing it since the moment I got it! It's from a boutique called Status Aparte.

Sticking to the pink-theme, I got myself this cute shirt in Brandy Melville. I love the basics of Brandy Melville, they're all so cozy and easy to combine! This cost me € 17,00.

When you're in Brandy Melville you obviously always need to get some kind of jewelry! Sorry, I can never contain myself, their jewelry line is just so my style! And when I saw these cool earrings for just € 5,00 I had to get myself a pair. If you don't really get how these work, here is another picture that might explain it to you:

Aren't they the coolest earrings ever? I've actually been on a hunt for these kind of earrings for a while now, but these were the first ones I found.

And something that made me very excited was that I got these stickers in Brandy Melville for free! How fun is that? Like I already mentioned in this post, it's the little things that compleet everything! Well, these just made my day a lot more fun!

These were the things I got/bought. I hope you liked them, because I sure do!

Yves Rocher Lavender Feet Peeling

Hi,
In winter my skin always gets a bit dryer, especially on my feet. I usually try to fix it with all sorts of nourishing cremes (which usually don't help at all), but now I wanted to try something else to get my feet soft again, so I tried out this peeling from Yvez Rocher.

First of all I like the sent of this product. Obviously it smells like lavender, which is one of my favorite scents. And by the way it has such a cute purple colour!
It feels harder than most other peelings I think, but not that much that it hurts, so that's okay. You might think that this makes it a good peeling that really helps your feet get soft again but actually it doesn't work at all. Maybe my feet are just hopelessly dried out, but I've been using this product for over a month now and my feet are just as they were before...

So after all not a very good product, although it looks and smells very good.

Rituals Mild Eye Make-up Remover

Hi,

When I recently visited the Rituals shop in my neighborhood, I treated myself with this mild eye make-up remover. Rituals' skincare range is definitely more on the pricey side, so it's always a treat to buy something of it. This was in the travel section (so it's a mini, how cute is that?!) which made it not even that expensive.

But even though it's something of Rituals (and up till now I've loved everything from Rituals) and it's pink, I'm not the biggest fan of it... It could be because me skin got more sensitive, but it does say it's a mild eye make-up remover, so you would expect it to be for people with sensitive skin. And that it kind of hurts my eyes isn't even the only problem, I also think it takes my make-up off very slowly... So no, I'm not the biggest fan of it and I do not recommend it...

I guess I'm just going to stick to my trusty rosewater which always seams to take of everything.

Primark P.S. Love Fake Nails

Hi,

My friends know how much I love doing my nails, so they recently got me these fake nails for my birthday. It's from the P.S. Love range of Primark. And aren't they adorable?! They aren't really winter or Christmas themed, but I couldn't wait to wear them!

Putting them on was pretty easy (even though it did took me a while to find out how the glue opened up). It took me more time to figure out which nails fitted the best. In total there were 20 nails, which I think is great because like that you have lots of choice.

I do find it a pity that you could really tell that they were false... Or maybe I'm just terrible at applying fake nails, but I don't think that could be the problem.

And they also fell of very quickly... So the glue isn't that great. I had to reapply them a couple of times and after a day I was so tired that I took them off.

These nails made me never want to try other fake nails again, even though it's probably just these ones that aren't that great... But I did feel very fancy wearing them for one day!

Rituals Miracle Balm (Rich and Nourishing Hand Balm)

Hi,

Whenever I wonder around in a shop of Rituals, I always test out their hand balms. And I always love the way they make my hands feel, but I never actually buy one. Except for recently, when I wanted to treat myself with one of their hand balms. Honestly I always use the original Nivea Cream as a hand balm, but I wanted to buy a product specifically for hands. Your hands need this love you know! And especially with winter around the corner.

Their hand balms all have a sort of similar scent (except this one which is orange scented, but I don't really like orange as a body fragrance...), so I looked at the advantages to choose one. The pink one called Miracle Balm is a rich, nourishing one, which sound the best for me.

And it's just wonderful! It makes your hands feel instantly soft, silky and hydrated. And it also did some wonders to my nails, who were a bit damaged and now are again strong like they used to be. So I really do recommend this!

Spotted: Adèle Exarchopoulos

Hi,

On the première of the movie The Anarchists, Adèle Exarchopoulos was spotted wearing this beautiful ensemble from Louis Vuitton.
Black monochrome outfits are timeless and this is a beautiful example of one. First of all I love her high-waist black trousers. I've been looking for something like these myself, because I'm really sick of wearing jeans all the time, and this is only a motivation to go looking for the perfect pair of felt trousers!
On top of it she's wearing a leather cropped poncho. This makes her outfit looke more haute-couture without being too eye-catchy.
She kept her accessories, nailpolish and shoes black too, except for her bright red lipstick. This gives her outfit a finishing touch.

Shoplog: Shopping for a Birthday Outfit

Hi,

One of my favorite things to do is to wear new clothes, so that's what I obviously like to do on my birthday as well! My birthday is not that far away, so I recently decided to buy some new clothes to wear on my birthday. And honestly, I think I found the perfect outfit!

The first thing I found was this gorgeous cropped top from Subdued. It was a bit on the pricey side, because it cost € 23,00 and that for just a top... But I loved it so much, so I payed the little extra money anyway. I especially love this beautiful detail:

This just makes it complete.

Then I got myself a pair of boyfriend jeans. These are from Subdued as well and they cost me € 50,00, which I think is a reasonable price for a pair of pants. These are actually my first boyfriend jeans, because before I never seamed to find the right ones. But these fit perfectly. And they don't have any rips in them, which I prefer. Ripped jeans aren't even allowed on my school... So I'm very happy I found these jeans! And they go perfectly with the top too!

In H&M I bought these ankle boots for € 29,99. I wasn't actually going to buy a complete outfit with shoes and everything, so it was kind of a coincidence when I found these boots which go perfectly with the outfit. They kind of give this whole outfit an Alex Centomo vibe, one of my style icons.

So this is the completed outfit I'll be wearing on my birthday! I added this cardigan from Brandy Melville, because the weather here in Belgium isn't that summery at the moment. I'm really happy with the result and I can't wait to rock this cute outfit on my birthday!

Colorful H&M Hairties

Hi,

Today I'll be writing another hairtie review. I know if already done a few, but I'm really on a quest to find the perfect ones.
As I've already said in my previous reviews, it's important to have hairties without the metal part, because this causes hair breakage. Like my last post these hairties are from H&M (so ofcourse pretty cheap) and you can wear them as bracelets too. I normally keep my hairties as basic as possible, but this time I went all colorfull! Not really my style usually, but to be honest I love it.
They also look really cute in my hair, although they're too big to put in a braid... Lovely for a ponytail or a bun though. The only disadventage is that they don't hold up my hair as well as other hairties do, which is really a pity. They're also a bit stiff so I can't wrap them around real tight. But that also means they don't stretch out at all (which was a problem with all the other hairties I tested out).
So they're not that great to use as a hairtie, but I also don't regret my buy. They look really adorable and even if I can't make every hairstyle with it, I can still use them as bracelets.

The Quality of Urban Outfitters Jewellery

Hi,

About 5 months ago I bought a necklace in Urban Outfitters, as you may already have read in that shoplog. And I expected much of it, because Urban Outfitters is a bit more on the pricey side. This necklace cost me € 15,00. Which I know is not a lot, but I do expect a better quality for this price.

When I bought it it was a golden necklace, now, some time later, it looks like this:

The gold is all gone and there are some rusty patches. I'm very disappointed... And this happened pretty quick too... I don't think it's worth to pay € 15,00 for a necklace to wear it just a couple of times.

So even though Urban Outfitters have a nice jewelry range, I don't think I'm going to buy any of theirs anymore. I'd rather buy some super cheap stuff in for example H&M, because you get the same quality anyways.
