Shoplog: Handy Basics

Hi,

So I went shopping and I bought a few handy basics, which I thought was fun sharing with you!

First, I went to Brandy Melville. I bought this basic grey shirt there. It's of course super soft, softer then anything else I own, so I know that I will wear this non-stop. Also, I just love the shape of this shirt, I think it really suits me.

Another thing I bought in Brandy Melville was this striped shirt. The stripes kind of look crazy on this picture, but I swear they are just basic, small stripes. ;) I love striped things, they go with everything. And I didn't own a basic striped shirt yet, so of course I wanted one of Brandy Melville, because there shirts are made out of a very soft and good quality material. I love this shirt and again, I think I will wear this a lot. Well I don't think I will just wear it loose like on the picture above, which brings me to the next thing where I am wearing it in a way I like a little more...

Next I went to Pull & Bear, where I bought these high wasted jeans. And this makes me so excited, because I've been looking for jeans that fit me for over a year now. I know that's crazy, but with my short and small figure I just can't find any pants who fit me. And these fit me perfectly! So if you have the same problem, I really recommend you to take a look in Pull & Bear. And I also just love the wash of these jeans, it's like they are made for me!

The last thing I bought is this makeup bag from New Look. This might not be such an exciting thing for you, but I have been looking for a makeup bag that I like for such a long time. This one is the perfect size and I love its print. And I also just love the cute tassels of the zipper, this makes this bag even prettier.

I hope you liked some of the things I bought, because I really like them, even though they are just basic things.

Louis Widmer Hand Cream

Hi,

I had a bit of trouble with dry hands lately and normally I use Nivea cream against that, but now I felt like trying out something else. So I bought this hand cream from Louis Widmer.
It's been helping quite a lot and my hands feel a lot softer again. Also my nails became healthier because of it. My nails were a bit weak for a while, but they grew stronger after applying this cream daily.
I like that it's such a small bottle, because that way I can take it with me in my bag and use it more frequently.
It costed about €7, which is maybe a bit much if you consider how small the bottle is, but on the other hand I'm really glad with the effect it had on my skin, so I don't regret buying it. The scent isn't that special either, which I think is kind of essencial for hand cream. It's not that the smell is bad, but I would have liked something sweeter or stronger. But anyways, I'm glad my hands are soft again.

Tweezerman Super Eyelash Curler

Hi,

In my review of the Topshop eyelash curler I already metioned I was going to invest in a more expensive eyelash curler and I did! When I was browsing on asos.com, I found this eyelash curler of Tweezerman called the Super Eyelash Curler, which already kind of sounds impressive, right? And I know Tweezerman is a brand with good qualitative products. This wasn't even that expensive, it only cost something like € 10. And it came with 3 new fillings for the squishy part in a nice little container, so I'm definitely not afraid that I will loose them.

I probably can't give you a full review yet, because I don't have this eyelash curler for that long. But I'm way to excited about this eyelash curler, so I just had to tell you guys all about it!

As you can see on the pictures, this isn't a normal eyelash curler. It kind of looks like a scary eyedoctor-tool. In the beginning it really was scary to use it, but now I'm used to it. So if you already hate using a normal eyelash curler, I wouldn't recommend you to buy this one, because this one is way scarier.

But it works so good! I definitely see a huge difference with my Topshop eyelash curler and that one wasn't even that bad. But with this curler I really get my lashes as curly as possible and they stay like that whole day long. You even can heat the squishy part up for even a better effect, but I don't want to damage my lashes by drying them out, so I'm not doing that.

I really recommend you guys this eyelash curler, it's amazing!

Spotted: Kendall Jenner

style | Tumblr💫

Hi,

Kendall Jenner was spotted twice with the same dress. First she was spotted at the Cannes Film Festival's red carpet wearing this gorgeous long dress and later on she was spotted wearing the same dress without its long skirt. Kendall proves you can transform a look, without being boring.

This dress was specially made for Kendall by Francisco Costa, Calvin Klein's creative director. I think it's a beautiful dress, perfectly for both the red carpet and the after party!

Evelina's Unicorn Braid

Instagram media by evelina - Tutorial on these coveted braids is up on my channel! And finally updated the prescription, so mama unicorn can see the starry sky🌌

Hi,

As you know, we're both huge fans of Evelina. I love her style and she always gives great advice. She made a really awesome hair tutorial a while ago, on a hairstyle she calls unicorn braids.

I really love the hairstyle, it looks really special but isn't too eyecatching. It takes a bit practice to make them as pretty as she does, but I'm really happy with the result.

Pharrell Williams for Timberland

Hi,

Pharrell's collection for Adidas is a big success and now he collaborated with Timberland as well. Instead of creating shoes in every colour possible, like he did for Adidas, he just created 2 shoes with a print on them, here they are:

These shoes were already spotted on Beyoncé and Rihanna! Pharrell is finding his way into the fashion world and I like it. His collections are all very exclusive and special. I can't wait to see what he will bring to us next.

Shoplog: Shoes

Hi,

A girls can't have enough shoes, right? So that's why, although I can't fit them in my closet anymore, I went shoe shopping wednesday!
There's a new shop near by where I live, Chaussea, and I noticed they have a lot of choice and the shoes they sell are really cheap. So I went to take a look and brought home these three pairs:

First of all I bought this very basic black sneakers. They only costed €5.99, so I didn't doubt one second! They're really comfy and it's good to have some basic pair of shoes to combine with any outfit.

I also got myself these high heeled sandals. These were exactly the kind of sandals I was looking for, so I'm very glad I found them. They costed a bit more than my new sneakers, €34.99 to be exact, but that's still not that of a huge amount of money for shoes I think.

Last but not least I bought this pair of slippers. I really love wearing slippers, but I need new ones every years, so this year I chose a pair with a harder sole than usual slippers, so I hope I can do longer than a year with this pair. They costed only €9.99 so if not, that's not such a drama.

I'm really curious about the quality of my new shoes, since they were all so cheap. Anyway, I'm really happy with them!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner

Hi,

After writing our post about the perfect evening skin care routine, I really wanted to get myself a better skin care routine. And one of the products I wanted to buy was a toner. What a toner does is give your skin that very deep cleanse, so it also removes the excess makeup you have on your skin (which believe me: you always have).

Because I love all the products of The Body Shop I wanted to try out some of there skin care products. At there site you can fill in a quiz to see which products you should use. I filled in this quiz, even though I already knew which collection I should use. And as I suspected, the results of this quiz were that I should use products of there Tea Tree collection. Tea tree is very good for acne and won't dry out your skin. I already used (and reviewed here) the foaming cleanser and skin clearing lotion of this range. The foaming cleanser I still use up to this day, because I think it's the most perfect cleanser for my skin type. It also lasts a long time because it's a foam-formula. I wasn't so fond about the skin clearing lotion though, but just because I didn't get the utility of this product.

But now I tried out the toner of the tea tree collection. I use this after I removed my makeup (so basically cleansed my skin) in the evening. And wow, I love this toner! You would be surprised to see how much dirt gets of my skin, even after I cleansed it. It really helped with clearing out my skin a bit more.

I also just love the scent of this product, even though I don't think many people would be so fond about it. It kind of smells earthy, or well it smells like tea tree.

This product also lasts a long time, because you just need to use the tiniest amount. Which again, makes me love this product more!

So I really recommend this product to people who have an oily skin type. This is the first toner I have ever used, so I can't really compare it to others, but I really think this is a great toner. Just try it out!

Bourjois Délice de Poudre Duo

Hi,

When I was browsing on Asos I found this brozer and highlighter of Bourjois. I have been looking for this for so long, but in Belgium I could only find the bronzer on its own, so I was very happy when I found it on Asos and I ordered it right away. If you life in Belgium too or in an other country that doesn't sell many of the popular products, than I really recommend you to take a look on Asos. And I also noticed that some of the products that I can buy here in Belgium, are just way cheaper on Asos. So I will definitely buy more stuff on there.

So this is what the product looks like. Maia already reviewed the bronzer on its own and she loves it. I'm also very happy about the results of this product.

I bought this in the universal shade and I think it's the perfect colour for me. You can of coruse build it up if you want to, but I like to use it in a very subtle way. Using bronzer and highlighter really opened new doors for me, makeup-wise. Even though you wouldn't expect it, using bronzer (in a subtle way) makes your makeup look a lot more natural, because your face isn't completely one colour too. And highlighter is just so fun to use. I really love the colour of this highlighter, because even though it looks quit white in the package, it's kind of the same colour as my own skin but than with some sparkles in it. This highlighter isn't over the top, which I like. You can't really see it, but it gives a nice effect when it hits the light. Both powders last all day long on my face, so it really is a good product! And it also just smells amazing. :)

So I'm very happy with this product and I really recommend it!

2B Nailpolish

Hi,

It's been a long time since I did a nail polish review, which is mainly because I haven't bought new nail polish in a while. Anyway, I saw I didn't review this one from 2B yet, and since it's one of my favorite nail polishes, I really have to write something about it.

I really adore this color because it's bright but still looking very chic. Not too eye catching, but also not boring. I've had this nailpolish for over a year though , so I don't know if they're still selling this color.
It stays on for about two or three days. Not that long, but longer than any other nail polish from one of these cheaper brands, so that's good enough for me.

The only point of critic I have on this nail polish is that it's too thin. Of course this makes it easier to apply, but it also means you have to apply more layers. Here I've applied three layers and as you see it's still a bit transparant.
All in all this is a pretty good nail polish, especially considering the fact that it's really cheap. 2B nail polish costs around €3 for a small bottle like this and €4 for a bigger one.

Ives Rocher Hair Repair Oil

Hi,

In my shoplog from January, I told you already about these great products from Ives Rocher I bought.
I alway try out as many repairing hair products as possible, so I decided to try this Hair Repairing Oil. I've been using it twice a week (like the instructions on the package reccomend) for almost two months now, so it was about time for a review :)
First of all I really love the smell. It contains oil from jojoba nuts, rapeseed, sunflower and castor. It smells rather sweet and the scent stays in your hair even after you've washed it. The package says it contains 99% natural ingredients, so I suppose they didn't add any parfume.
I noticed that it really helped to hydratate my hair and makes my hair look more healthy. Like it says on the package it gives my hair a healthy shine and it makes my dry ends a lot softer.
It's also very easy to use, you just have to apply some drops on the ends of your hair and let it in for 10 minutes. It's also easy to rinse out and won't leave your hair oily afterwards.
Apart from the oil itself I think the design of the bottle looks really cute too.
I've also bought shampoo and conditioner of this same line, so I'll be reviewing them soon too.

Maia's Lookbook: My Party Outfit

Hi,

Yesterday I went to a little festival in my town so today I'll be doing a Lookbook to show you my outfit.
I always think it's hard to pick an outfit to go out partying with, because I want to look good, but the outfit also has to be comfy. Also this party was outside and, altough it's spring already, it can get pretty cold here in the evenings.

As mostly when I go out, I was wearing my leggings from Zara. They're not that warm, but really comfortable and better to dance in than jeans. I combined it with my new white sweater. This is a sweater my mom knittted and I really love it, especially because it's so unique. It's made from cotton, so not that warm, which is why I wore my oversized jeans jacket over it. I like the though look of this jacket, but it's also very convenient because of the many pockets. I don't really like bringing a purse to a bag, so it was good to have something else to keep my money and phone in.

I mostly don't wear many accessories when I go to a party, but yesterday I decided to wear this little star necklace anyway. It suited my look and it think it looks really cute with my sweater.

So that was my party-look, hopefully you liked it!

Nivea Nourishing Day Cream with Almond-oil

Hi,

My skin is naturally oily, but I've used in the past lots of acne products that dried out my skin. So I had to use a moistrurizer to solve that problem. You should by the way always use a moistrurizer, even though your skin is oily, because your skin needs some hydratation too.

The first moistrurizer I have ever tried was this one from Nivea. At that time I was experiencing a very dry skin and it really helped with that. But I don't have the feeling it does any good for my skin beyond that it helped with my dryness, because this is quit oily. And it's okay to use oil on an oily skin, but not when it makes your skin even more oily, which was the case with this product. So I would recommend it to people who have a dry skin, but not if you have an oily skin-type like myself.

I do really love the scent in this product. I smells amazing or at least I think it does. And I've kept using this product for a long time just for its smell. It also has SPF 15 in it, which is great too! But I think it's time to move on and try out new moistrurizers now.

Garnier All-In-One BB Cream Light

Hi,

A couple of months ago I already posted about the Garnier All-In-One BB cream and in this review I said I had the medium one, which was too dark for me. So when that one was empty, I decided to try out the lighter one.

The texture and contents stay the same of course (so check my last review if you want to read more about that), but I was worrying a bit if it would cover enough. I already thought the medium one wasn't covering enough, altough it was way darker than my own skin. But I tested this one out anyway and it's about as covering as the medium one. This means it doesn't give you a super perfect looking skin, but if covers worst imperfections, which is already okay for me.

I prefer this one over the medium one though, because it looks more natural on my skin. The medium BB cream was a bit too dark for me, but this one is the exact right color.

Like I already said in my previous review, it lasts very long. My last one was empty about a month ago and I have been using it for over a year.

Essie Good To Go Top Coat

Hi,

So my goal for this year was to invest in better nail polishes. A top coat is one of the most important steps of applying nail polish, so I wanted to buy a really good one. And since I heard so much about Essie's Good To Go top coat, I bought this one.

First of all I love the brush of this nail polish. It's something you don't really think about, but a good brush makes applying nail polish so much easier. Actually all the nail polishes of Essie have this kind of brush, so just for that I would already be prepared to pay a bit more.

What I really love about this top coat and what I haven't experienced with another top coat before, is that this top coat really seals your design and fills in any gaps. So if you made a mistake or so, you can just put this top coat overneath and it will look like nothing has happend.

Also like the name of this top coat already says: it dries really quickly! And come on, none of us have the time to wait for there nail polish to dry.

It really is the best top coat I have ever tried, so I really recommend you to buy it, even though it's a bit more on the pricey side.

Spotted: Gisele Bünchen

Hi

This week Gisele Bünchen, face of Chanel, was spotted in this beautiful outfit at Chanel's Cruise 2016 show in Seoul.
She chose to wear a whole black outfit with some gold and white details. Monochrome outfits always look very chic, especially when topped off with some statement jewelry pieces. I really love her bracelets. They're just simple gold ones, but they make the look complete.
Her outfit is, of course, from Chanel.

Shoplog: A Meaningful Necklace

Hi,

Yesterday I went shopping in Antwerp and when I was in Urban Outfitters, I saw this range of necklaces with the symbols of the zodiac signs on it. I always wanted a meaningful, small necklace. You know, these kind of necklaces you can wear daily that say something more about yourself. So I was very excited when I saw these necklaces.

I was very lucky, because there was only one left with my zodiac sign, which is scorpio. On the package it also said something about the caracter of people who are scorpio, even though I think mine didn't really match with my caracter, I think it's very fun to read these kind of things. I really like that Urban Outfitters thinks about these little details on the package.

This necklace cost € 15,00, which is a little more then I would normally give for a necklace. But then I also have high hopes for this necklace being good quality. I will let you know when I know more about its quality, so stay tuned for that!

Why Not To Wear Make-up While Working Out

Beach

Hi,

It isn't easy to keep looking good while working out since sports wear is always a bit less flattering and your hair probably gets all messy (check out our post about workout hairstyles to prevent that). So many girls decide to wear make-up but that's something you should never-ever do!
Your pores set out while sporting and you'll probably sweat a bit. You're skin really needs to breathe at this point and that's impossible when your wearing foundation. When your skin is too much covered you'll get acne and a unhealthy looking skin.
So never put on make-up to go out sporting and try to remove it before going to the gym.
What you can do instead of putting on make-up is washing your skin and putting on a hydratating serum. When you're done, clean your skin again and put on some day cream.
Hopefully this'll help you getting a beautiful, healthy skin!

Kruidvat Professional Makeup Brush Cleanser

Hi,

Today it's Maia's birthday, so happy birthday Maia! :)

Today I'm reviewing Kuidvat's Professional Makeup Brush Cleanser. If you didn't know it yet, I bought some brushes of Real Techniques last year and I obviously want to take the best care of them. And not only to keep my brushes in a good condition, but also to keep it all hygienic. It's very important to clean your brushes at least once a week (if you use them daily of course).

But the problem is that I couldn't find any brush cleansers here in Belgium. The only one I could find was this one of Kruidvat itself. If you didn't know it yet: Kruidvat is a Dutch drugstore. This makeup brush cleanser was very cheap. It cost me only € 2,95 and it's quite a large bottle.

But I don't like this product at all! You need to apply a little bit on a dry tissue, to than clean your brush with the tissue. But as you can see on this picture, you can't get your whole brush clean. Well, at least not with foundation, with powders it works better. The smell of this product is horrible. It kind of smells like nailpolish remover and it has the same effect because after using this your whole room will smell like it and you will be left with a headache. On the bottle it also says you shouldn't wash the product out with water afterwards, so this smell stays in your brushes. This is also a very chemical product so the fact that you don't wash it out and later on you touch your face with it kind of scares me.

So I'm hoping that I can find another brush cleanser that I do like or I might buy something online, because I can't keep using this one!
