Spotted: Rihanna

Hi!

Wow, we spotted the most beautiful statement neclace ever today! :o Rihanna has a great style, we already knew that, but now she surprised us again! It's from Dylanlex and costs $1,080.00.. Wow again.. But if we were as rich as her, we would have bought it too ;)

We don't really like her clothes, mainly because both the t-shirt and the pants are in the same color and because everything's so chic except for the sweatpants...

The rest of her jewelry on the other hand, really brightens up her outfit. And we really like the kind of ancle-chain-thing she is wearing.

And look at her hair!! :o She has such perfect hair! That's excactle the kind of curls every girl dreams of...

By the way, notice the guy with the bright purple sneakers in the back of the picture. :p With every excample on how to be stylish there comes an excample on how not to be...

Hairstyles For When Your Hair Is Greasy

Hi!

This monday we made a post about why you shouldn't wash your hair and one of the tips we gave was that you should only wash your hair every 3 days (or 2 is okay too), but if you wash your hair every day now, you can't just stop doing it without having extreme greasy hair (if you want to know why you should read our previous post ;) ). This will stay for a few weeks  before your hair is acustommed to not being washed every day. But what de you do in these weeks?

We already said that if you're planning to stop washing your hair every day, the summer vacation is perfect. You don't have to look perfect all the time and when you go out you can put your hair in a ponytail to cover it up. But okay, we understand that it's a little boring to wear a ponytail every day, so we've searced a few hairstyles for you that will cover up the greasyness but still look fun for summer!

Greasy hair also has a positive side, by the way. All these hairstyles will be a lot easier to do and will stay a lot longer.




Our first hairstyle is a thick, messy braid. You can just make a normal braid, but we have some tips for those who want some more texture (wich will distract the attention from the greasyness of your hair). Before you start making the braid you can tease the top section of your hair. Just lift up a couple of sections and backcomb it a little. Then after you made a braid, you can pull out the braid a little to make it thicker.



The next one is kind of a weird one, but we like it a lot and it looks kind of funny :) The first thing you do is tease your hair, like with the braid in the hairstyle above. Next divide your hair in two and make a double knot (jup, just a normal knot). If you're not sure if it's secure you can use some bobby pins. And again like you did with the braid, pull it out a little.



You've probably seen this hairstyle a lot already, and you've probably already tried it too. Not as easy as it looks huh :s But maybe it'll work now your hair is a little greasy, because like we said already: hairstyles stay better in greasy hair!



Just a normal bun will work too, if you still can't manage the previous hairstyle ;) You can switch beween the normal bun, the messy bun (click here for the tutorial), the rope braid bun (there's also a tutorial on that one), a braided bun, a side bun (or ballerina bun), a bow bun or a cute donut bun (if you don't know what that is, we have a post about it, including a tutorial).



You can also make different variations on ponytails, because we understand if you don't have enough time to do special buns or braids every morning. So you can just make a ponytail, a low one or a high one. Also braid look very cute in your ponytail. You can make a couple of little braids, or just braid all of your hair into a fishtail or normal braid. You can also first braid your bangs and than put them into a ponytail. Also just something like a bow or a cuff (like the picture above) will already make your ponytail a lot more special.

Actually everything that's messy is good. Just only do updo's, because half updo's will not cover it up completely and letting your hair just loose will look very untended.

There you go! Now you don't have any excuse anymore not to stop washing your hair every day!

Kate Middleton Is Still A Beauty Icon!

Hi,

Last year we announced that Kate Middleton was crowned beaty icon of the year by Daily Mail, a daily newspaper in England. (you can read all about it here) We totally understood, because she always looks cute and trendey and has a style most girls can relate to, mostly because she doesn't only wear designer clothing. Once she wore a Topshop dress! And you have to admit, her hair is just perfect.. It was by the way already the 3th time she was Daily Mail's beauty icon of the year (all in a row)!
Recently Daily Mail did another poll to find out who the brittains want to be beauty icon this year. And guess who was chosen again.. Kate Middleton of course! Almost half of the people who voted, voted for her, both men and women. Congatulations, Kate, you've earned it! ;)
The second and thirth place were for Cheryl Cole and Keegan.

Why Not To Wash Your Hair Every Day

A while ago we made a couple of posts about how to let your hair grow (check out part I, part II and part III here), because isn't it every girls dream to have long, beautifull princess hair? Well, we already showed you how to get that 'long' part, but you should work on the 'beautiful' part too.

One thing that we think is really ugly (with both long and short hair and everything inbetween) is greasy hair. And we think everyone agrees with us on that one. So that's why many girls (especially teens, because when your a teen your hair gets oily very more often) wash their hair every day. But actually this is EXACTLY the reason why they get greasy hair so often!! So better not do that.. But there are many more reasons why not to wash your hair every day.

1. Hairstyles look way better on hair that's washed the day before
Yes, it sound weird but it's true. It's way easier to make a braid or bun in not fresh washed hair and it wil stay a lot longer (this is especially for the girls with very straight hair, because it's already not that easy to keep a bun in that kind of hair).

2. It's bad for your hair color
Of course this is only with those with coloured hair :p No matter what brand of hair-coloring you used or wether you use shampooing special for colored hair or not: washing your hair every day will have a huge impact on the color of your hair! The color will fade away soon and it will loose it's shinyness...

3.It costs a lot
And not only the shampoo, but also the watter you use. And maybe you'd say: "I shower every day anyway" but just washing your body takes less time. Also all waste of watter if bad for the enviroment.

4. There are chemicals in shampoo...
In ALL shampoos and conditioners are chemicals, even the super expencive, super profesional ones..

5. And last but not least, like we said before: it irritates the skin on your head, because washing your hair takes away the sebum (protacting layer of oil), what causes your skin to try to produce even more sebum. And that means your hair gets even greasier than it was before...

Well, we hope we have convinced you to not wash your hair every day anymore, if you were one of these girls. Now you now what not to do, but what should you do instead? Well, it would be perfect if you washed your hair every 3 days. This gives the perfect ballace between rest for the skin on your head and the greasyness in your hair. First your hair will be greasy after one day already, because it's accustomed to being washed every day, but after a few weeks, your hair will look perfect even on this thirth day. Maybe you're a bit deterred by the fact that you'll have oily hair for a while, but it's definitely worth it! A by the way, it's almost summer, wich means not going to school, wich means: who cares how you look ;) And you can always hide your greasy hair in a ponytail on the days that you're going out.

Superhero Shirts

Hi!

Last month we noticed that shirts with Indian gods on and band-tees are really in fashion. Well now we picked up a new trend: super-hero shirts!

Just like with the shirts with Indian gods we saw these at Urban Outfitters. Here are they:





So these were from Urban Outfitters, but after we searched a bit more in a couple of webshops we noticed Forever 21 also likes to show off with their favorite heroes:








So these were already two shops that sell these kind of shirts, but there are definitely a lot more. Just take some time to search for the one you like ;)

We already said that we liked it when people show their fandom by what they are wearing (it gives your outfit a personal touch) but in this case we think you don't really have to be a huge fan of super-heroes to wear them. For example, Maia has a batman shirt and a wonderwoman shirt, but she's not really into one of them. She does like the avengers, by the way, so maybe she should better buy one of these above ;)
