How To Make Nail Polish Stay Longer

Hi,

We've tested out a lot of nail polishes yet, both expencive and cheaper ones. There were some really great ones, but there were also some that only stayed for a day or two, even some of the more expensive ones.
If you want your nail polish to stay long, you should start with buying one of good quality of course (check out our nail polish reviews for that), but there are also other things that can help you.

First of all, before you polish your nails, make sure they are totally clean. Remove your old nail polish before you put on a new color and wash your hands a couple of times.
It's important not to apply too much nail polish. Many people think: the more layers, the longer it lasts. But this isn't true at all! If you apply too much, it can't dry properly and then it won't last long either. If you need to apply a second or even a third layer, wait long enough before applying them. We know that's kind of annoying, but there are some good tricks to make your nail polish dry faster.
Of course it's always a good idea to apply a top coat. This doesn't only give a pretty shine, it also makes even the cheap nail polishes stay days longer. Thereby it also helps to hide the small flaws that might happen when you didn't let your nails dry long enough.
Also a base coat can help a lot. It makes it easier for the nail polish to stick to your nails and helps to spread it evenly. A base coat also creates a barrier that helps protect your nails from the damaging nail polish can cause. It wil also prevent your nails from getting yellowish.
