Air Drying Your Hair The Right Way

air dry air drying hair the beauty department

Hi,

In our post on how to avoid split ends, wetold you that it's best to air dry your hair after you've washed it. Many people don't like to air dry their hair because it's prettier when they use a hair dryer, but when that's the case you're probably air drying your hair all wrong! Now this is what you need to know about air drying your hair:
- As you see in the first picture, you have to comb your hair first. I've heard many people say you loose more hair when you comb it when it's wet, but I can assure you this isn't true :) It's best to use a comb with wide tooths on wet hair.
- In the second picture the girl is using some kind of special product for air drying. Personally I don't use any of those, although I sometimes try a bit of volume foam.
- If you've read our post about avoiding split ends you know already that it's best to wrap a towel around your hair to let it dry. Never scrub with it, just gently squeeze. :)
- This is also the perfect moment to try some sort of no-heat curls! We've made plenty posts about those and I always try one of them on my wet hair. A bun can give your hair a nice wave too and it also helps against hair that's too puffy.
