The Body Shop Olive Range

Hi,

This Christmas I got a giftbox of The Body Shop with there whole olive collection in it. And I love this range lots! So that's why I wanted to share it with you today.

In the box you get the showergel, the body lotion, the scrub, the soap (which I unfortunatly forgot to put on the picture) and a green shower sponge (which is also not on the picture...). I love all the products in this range. But I was mostly impressed with the soap, because I normally never use soap bars. I think they leave a weird and dry feeling, but this one doesn't. And it smells like heaven, like the rest of the products.

Once a week I use all the products together and it always leaves my skin feeling very soft and healthy. I can feel that these products do really good on my skin. So I really recommend you to check this range out.

I use these products in combination with my Garnier Ultra Doux Hair Mask with olive oil, like that I can have a complete olive sensation. And the weird thing is that I don't even like olives... But these products don't really smell like olives and olive oil is very good for your skin and hair!

Changing Your Eye Shape With Eye Liner

Hi,

Last year we made a post about how to change your eye shape with eye shadow, but because there are way more people who use eye liner instead of eye shadow, I thought it would be more helpful to make a post on how to change your eye shape using eye liner.
I'm personally not such a fan of eye liner, still I think this is something worth trying out.

Spotted: Celebs at the Oscars

Hi,

This week were the Oscars, a very important event, partly because of the fashion statements you see every year. Most eyecatching this year was Lady Gaga who was, like you may or may not have heard already, wearing some sort of dishwashing gloves.. But best dressed was Gwyneth Paltrow for sure, with a lovely pink custom Ralph & Russo dress.
Here are the rest of the stars and their sparkling outfits:

Presenter Gwyneth Paltrow looked pretty in a pink, custom-made Ralph & Russo Couture gown.

"The Theory of Everything" best actor winner Eddie Redmayne with wife Hannah Bagshawe.

Last year's best supporting actor winner Jared Leto kept his custom Givenchy suit dry from the L.A. rain with an umbrella on the red carpet.

Last year's "12 Years A Slave" best supporting actress winner Lupita Nyong'o.

Andy Samberg with wife Joanna Newsom.

Actress and fashion blogger Jamie Chung wearing Yanina Couture.

"Gone Girl" best actress nominee Rosamund Pike matched the red carpet in her Givenchy dress.

Lady Gaga in custom Azzedine Alaïa (which took 25 people and 10 weeks to make) with pregnant "The Imitation Game" best supporting actress nominee Keira Knightley in Valentino.

"Into The Woods" best supporting actress nominee Meryl Streep.

Dove Pure Care Dry Oil with African Macadamia Oil

Hi,

I've been using the Elsève Liss-Intense Serum Anti-Frizz for a long time now. And I do like that product, because it makes my hair super healthy, but it didn't do much about my frizz. So I thought it was about time for a change. And since I love all the Dove products, I wanted to buy there Pure Care Dry Oil with African macadamia oil. It costs only € 9,99 and it's a 100 ml bottle, while the Elsève serum cost € 14,95 and is a bottle with only 50 ml in it. The packaging is also made of glass, which makes it look super fancy and well made. Well, it does make it less handy to carry with you on a trip, but I still really like it. So far it looks already a lot better than the hair oil I used to use of Elsève, but does it actually work better?

If you don't know how to apply oils on your hair, I will explain that first to you. I apply hair oils right after I washed my hair, when my hair is towel-dry. I put a little bit on my hand (a little goes a long way!) and I run it through the ends of my hair. Never apply an oil on your roots, because it will leave your hair super greasy.

First of all I want to mention that I love the sent of this oil. Even though the sent doesn't stay on my hair for that long, it's always a nice aromatherapy-moment when I apply it on my hair. It makes my hair look very shiny and healthy, just like the Elsève Liss-Intense Serum Anti-Frizz did with my hair. I think all oils are just very good for your hair. But this one also makes your hair less frizzy! Not that magically much of course, but I'm still very impressed. I'm very happy with this product and I would definitely recommend it, even if you don't have frizzy hair, because it makes your hair a lot healthier in general. And if you didn't know it yet; oils also protect your hair for heath. A good hair oil is basically a must in your hair care routine!

Dove recently made a video about to love your curls. And it's already been watched millions of times. I struggle with accepting my curly hair too and I think many people who have curls do. Well, just watch the video, it will make you feel a lot more confident about your curls:

Cinderella's Glass Slippers Recreated by Iconic Designers

Hi,

This year there'll be a movie remake of the fairytail Cinderella, the story that learned us that a pair of shoes can truly change your life. ;) Some very famous shoe designers gave Cinderella's iconic glass slippers a make-over. Here are the results:

I'm so in love with the ones from Jimmy Choo! That's exactly how I imagine Cinderella's pumps :) I like the ones from Charlotte Olympia too. They have a more modern touch and I think that's a creative way to look at it.

Femke's Lookbook: My Lazy Sunday Outfit

Hi,

There always is that day in the week where I can't be bothered with the way I look. Today is that day. It's a lazy day and I don't feel like dressing up when I'm just staying home. I'm not wearing make up. And normally I would put my hair in a messy bun on days like these, so it's out of my way, but today I decided to leave it loose.

My favourite oufit on days like these is probably this one. It's the most comfortable and cozy outfit I own, so I always reach for it on lazy days. I'm wearing my leggings of Zara. Leggings are a love/hate thing, but I really love them. They are basically the most comfortable bottoms you will ever find and I deffinitely prefer them over sweatpants and pajamabottoms. With that I'm just wearing a brown top of Pimkie. I'm going very basic today. And on top of that I'm wearing my cardigan, which I bought last year in Zara. It's very oversized and so comfy, I love it!

So that is my lazy sunday outfit.

Choosing Necklaces for Necklines

Hi,

I recently found this really helpful picture on WeHeartIt on how to choose what necklace to wear according to the neckline of your shirt. I'm always kind of worried my necklace will look weird with my top, so this is an easier way to check which one's best instead of trying them all on ;)

NYC Cityproof Twistable Lip Crayon

Hi,

I had my eye on lip crayons for a while now, because everyone talks about them. The most popular ones are probably from Revlon, Rimmel and Bourjois. I was about to buy ones of those, but then I saw these super cheap ones from NYC (New York Color). They only cost € 2,99. I couldn't resist and I bought one of them, instead one of the poular ones. I bought this one in the color 20 'Riverside Rose'.

The first thing I noticed about this crayon when I put it on was that it tastes horrible. It has this chemical taste. It made me already regret that I bought it, because I prefer to put things on my lips with a neutral or good taste (which is normal, right?). But I do love the texture of this crayon: it's very moisturizing. And it's so easy to apply! Now I get why lip crayons are such a big trend. And the color is very beautiful too. But of course the taste is not the only bad thing of this lip crayon, what do you expect with such a cheap product? It lasts not long at all. The moment you eat or drink you already need to apply a new coat.

So no, I don't recommend this product. But I'm deffinitely going to try one of the more popular lip crayons soon.

Spring Nail Polish Trends 2015

Hi,

Almost spring, so I thought you might wanted to know what nail colors are hot this season. These are the trends we spotted on the spring 2015 runways:

Kenzo
At Kenzo they went for white with silvery details. This was also seen at the show from Erin Fetherston, altough they only added a thin silver line, and at Lela Rose models wore nude nail polish with a small silver stud.
Giorgio Armani
If you want to go for a plain color you could go for bronze (like Armani), bright red (like Zac Posen) or purple-blue (like Reed Krakoff)
negative space nails charlotte ronson
Extremely popular were these negative-space manicures, like these at Charlotte Ronso.
Something I found very special was this cuticle-only style at Rodarte.
French manicure is also still in fashion. I love these at Sophie Theallet, whoch have both a white and a mint stripe. At Zang Toi models wore purple nail polish with a white border.

We also noticed most models didn't have very long nails and oval shaped nails are still in fashion.

Spotted: AnnaSophia Robb

AnnaSophia Robb striped coat

Hi,

I spotted AnnaSophia at New York Fashion Week and wow, doesn't she look gorgeous?

She went for a very casual look. Just a pair of jeans, a white button-down shirt (with some cute detailing on the collar) and a black blazer. You seriously can't go wrong with any of those pieces. But to make this look more fashion-week-appropiate she draped an oversized striped coat of Dries Van Noten on top. And this really makes the outfit complete.

Her shoes are basic, black sandals heels, which you again, can't go wrong with. And her purse is this very cute little black one of Mark Cross.

I really like this outfit. And as you can see: just one piece can change your entire look.

Hair Ties From H&M Without Metal

Hi,

I recently bought a set of new hair ties from H&M, like I already said in my shoplog, and I specifically chose these, because they don't have the little iron thingy (I don't know the name of it, sorry). The metal on the usual rubber bands is actually really band for your hair and it can cause a lot of breakage. You also have these smaller elastic bands, wich look really good because they're so small, but I don't really like using them because they tangle with my hair a little and they also pulls out a bit of hair every time I use them. So this time I decided to try out these soft ones without any metal.
I've used this ones for a couple of weeks now and I must say that it's true that I loose less hair thanks to them. They also never tangle with my hair, so they're easy to take out again.
They're a bit big, which is why I kept using small elastic ties too, but I feel more comfortable using this ones.

The only disadvantage is that they stretch out very easily, as you can see on the picture above. The tie on the left is one I barely wore (or maybe not at all) and the right one is the one I kept my bun up with yesterday. When you take them out they're always a bit stretched out, but they mostly go back to normal after a while, but as you see when you wear them for a long time, they'll stay stretched out permanently...

Shoplog: January Sales

Hi,

Like I told you already in my party lookbook I went shopping some weeks ago. I only went shopping once for the sales in January, because I have waaaay too much to do lately, but I'm really glad with the things I bought, so that's okay :)

First I went to Ivez Rocher. Since I have a client card I always get a lot of discounts there, so I just got to get over there :) I bought a conditioner and a shampoo, because last time I went shopping I bough some sort of repairing oil for my hair and I'm so fond of it I just had to buy the shampoo and conditioner too. Review of all three of them will follow soon :) I had discount on lip balm too and since I'm obsessed with lip balm I couldn't leave this one with shea. I already had a lip balm from Ivez Rocher I really loved, so this seemed a good idea to me ;) I only payed €8 for all this stuff together.

I also got this 'welcome present' because I got myself a client card last time. Another reason to love Ivez Rocher! It's this really cute little make-up bag :)

I'm still really into band tees, so I was really happy to see America Today gave a discount on their shirts. There was 70% off this Led Zepplin shirt, wich made it only €7. I hope weather gets warmer here soon, so I can show off with it ;)

There wasn't any discount on this sweater from H&M, but I love the print so much! When I was a kid, I used to be really obsessed with dinosaurs, so I just couldn't leave it :) And all actually even without a discount €9.95 is a very reasonable price for a cute sweater.

I also bought these hair ties from H&M. It aren't just regular ones, but some without the little iron thingy that's bad for your hair. I'll review them too, so that you'll know if they're actually better or not.

I already showed my new jumpsuit in my lookbook. It's from Bershka and it costed only €12.95.

I Love... Raspberry & Blackberry Body Lotion

Hi,

I wanted to pamper myself with a new body lotion. I use a body lotion every day after I showered, because it's very important to moisturize your body and it keeps your skin feeling very soft.

I have lots of different body lotions, but I like to change it up ones in a while. So when I was searching in my local drugstore I got my eyes on this body lotion of the brand 'I love...'. I never heard of this brand before and to be honest I think the packaging looks kind of cheap. It was also the cheapest body lotion I could find in this drugstore. But when I looked to the ingredients I saw they used many natural ingredients. So I thought it was worth to try.

And wow, I love this body lotion now! I can really feel that it does good on my skin. And I love the scent! This one is raspberry and blackberry sented. I do find that the sent doesn't stay that long, but you have that with many body lotions, so it doesn't really bother me.

I totally recommend these body lotions. And I can't wait to try other sents!

MaxFactor Pan Stick

 Hi,

I always have dark circles under my eyes, so the makeup item that's most necessary for me is a concealer. I've been trying a few different ones out lately, like Pan Stik from Max Factor. The Pan Stick is used as both a concealer and foundation, but I only use it as a concealer, because it's rather thick and sticky for a foundation.

First of all I like the packaging a lot. It's not that special or cute, but I think it looks very chic. The wind-up is also a very efficient and it's easy to apply.

For the rest I wasn't very impressed by it actually. This is mainly because it wasn't exactly the right color for me. It's not as dark as it looks on the picture by the way, but still it wasn't perfect for me and this is something really neccessery for a concealer. My skin is rather fair and this is the one for a fair skin, but it's still a huge difference with my own skin.
It covers pretty good, but when the color isn't okay this doesn't really help. I bet it's a good concealer for people with a rather tanned skin, but I don't recommend it at all for people with a fair skin.

It isn't that expensive, I think something around €7 and it lasts long time, so that's a fair price. As I said before it's too thick for a foundation, but for a concealer it's perfect. It's a bit sticky when you apply too much of it, but because of the dark color a thin layer is enough. It's also kind of moisturizing. It's made for people with a dry skin and it hides the dryer parts of your skin too. It also spreads out pretty well for it's rather heavy texture.

The concealer I usually wear is Time Balm from The Balm and I'm pretty sure no other concealer can surpass that one. It has the perfect color, stays on the whole day and makes all red spots and dark circles almost invisible. The only problem with that one, is that it's rather expensive.

Spotted: Celebs at the Grammy Awards

Hi,

This week the Grammy Awards took place and again there were a lot of red carpet-looks that you really need to see. According to me, Beyoncé was best dressed, while I expected better from Katy Perry. Usually I'm a huge fan of her style, as well as her music, but I really don't like the dress she was wearing at the Grammy's. Rihanna's dress was surely the most eye-catching and I think it looks really fairytale-ish, but I think the shape isn't very flattering, which is why I still prefered Beyoncé's outfit. Also, please take a moment to admire Iggy Azalea's braided updo. I think her dress isn't that special, but the hair compensated :)
But of course you'd better take a look yourself :) We selected the most outstanding outfit's that are worth a look:
