Yves Rocher Nutrition Hair Repair Balm

Hi,

I've never believed in hair repair products, because it's not possible that your split ends grow back together, right?! So normally I don't waste money on these type of products. But after a recommandation, I was very curious to try this product out. It's the Yves Rocher Nutrition Hair Repair Balm. My hair isn't really damaged, because I don't use heat on it and I've been taking the best care of it lately. But I do experience dry ends a lot, because I have a dry hair type.

Like always I'm first going to describe its smell. Honestly I'm not really fond about its smell. It's not such a bad smell, I do get that many people will love this smell, but it's basically not really my type of smell. But besides the smell, I'm obsessed with this product!

You use this product on dry hair. Which I think is a bit scary, because what if it makes your hair greasy? But it doesn't makes it greasy at all. Instead it instantly makes your hair very shiny, soft and smooth, without (like it says on the packaging) weighing it down. And the best part (or well, at least for me) is that it makes my hair completly frizzy free! This product is such a miracle and like I said before: it's my new obsession. I can't life without this product anymore.

I feel like using it daily, because it's so amazing. But I don't allow myself to do that, because your hair needs some time without products too. So I use it whenever my hair is very frizzy or dry: after a very rainy day or maybe after one of those super dry days. A couple of days ago for example the air here was very humid. So humid that surprisingly even people with very silky and smooth staight hair got a little bit of frizz going on. Normally my hair goes crazy on days like these. But that morning I used this product and my hair stayed frizzy-free the whole day. Like I said before: it's a miracle, right? And also when your hair isn't been washed for a couple of days, it's very nice to use a product like this one that makes your hair very soft and shiny again, almost like it's freshly washed.

If you didn't know it yet: the products of Yves Rocher are mostly made out of natural ingredients. This one for example is 96% made out of natural products. So we can be sure this product is really good for your hair and isn't full of chemical products that maybe make your hair look good, but aren't actually that good for your hair.

So I really recommend this product! I recommend it for people with frizzy, dry hair and people who use heat a lot, but I also recommend it for people who don't experience dry hair, because this product just makes your hair a lot healthier in general.

Rituals Sunrise Foaming Shower Gel

Hi,

A while ago I wrote about this Rice Scrub from Rituals which I'm totally in love with. Now along with the scrub I got the Sunrise foaming body gel, also from Rituals.
The reason I prefer Rituals to any other brand of shower gel, is the smell of their products. The Sunrise body gel has the scent of sweet orange & chedar wood, wich is a sweet and ricj scent. I'm totally adore it, it's even better than the amazing smell of my scrub.
I already made a review of the Yogi Flow shower gel and I already told you there how lovely Rituals' foaming shower gels are. It foams a loooot, which means you don't need a lot of it and you can do a while with your one bottle. It also feels really soft on the skin and the scent is very long-lasting.
The package is also really cute. It's very practical and I love the bright color and the little flower print.

No Make Up Drugstore Make Up

Hi,

One of my favourite youtubers is Essie Button. I love her not only because she's very funny, but also because she know a lot about beauty related things, which I'm obviously interested about. And something I noticed about her is that her make up always looks so natural, like she is almost wearing nothing. So I was very happy when she posted this no make up make up tutorial recently. And it's not only a video were she explains how she gets her perfect 'no make up' look, but in this video she uses only products from drugstore, which makes this video even more awesome! So go check it out, if you want to learn how to get natural looking make up:

How To Fix A Broken Nail

Hi,

Don't we all hate it when a nail breaks off? It can be so frustrating, especially when you finally have all your nails the right lenght and shape. Recently I saw a really helpfull video from CutePolish where she explains how she fixes her broken nails:

Spotted: Kristin Cavallari

Hi,

Like we said before: monochrome is really a trend again. This is again proved by Kristin Cavallari who was spotted wearing this cute outfit in Beverly Hills. She chose for the color beige, wich always looks very chic, but she made it a bit more casual by wearing ripped jeans.

How To Make Fine Hair Look Thicker

Hi,

One of the main problems I have with my hair is that it's really flat and fine. I mainly solve the problem by trying out no heat curls on my hair, in which I find the Bantu Knot Curls (from Cute Girls Hairstyles on Youtube) the most effective.
Now I recently read an article from Michelle Phan on how to make thin hair look thicker.
Her first tip was using thickening shampoo and conditioner. She also advises not to use too much of conditioner. This'll make your hair look heavy and greasy.
Also try to let your hair air dry as much as possible. Michelle also gives a blow dry trick, but I'm actually really against using heat on your hair. It may look good, but it'll dry out your hair a lot. Thereby, if you air dry your hair the right way, you'll get exactly the same effect.
You can also use a bit of volume mousse. I'm personally also not really a fan of this, because it always makes my hair a bit greasy afterwards and I'm rarely really happy with the effect.
Also, never sleep with wet hair. This'll make your hair look even more flat. It's better to let it dry a little bit and then try some sort of no heat curls.

Adidas X Pharrell Williams

http://www.highsnobiety.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/12/files/2015/03/adidas-pharrell-superstar-supercolor-01-960x640.jpg
Hi,

Adidas is about to launch a great new line of shoes. It's a collaboration with Pharrel Williams and it contains the original Superstar sneaker in 50 different colors.

I think it gives a great new boost to the classic sneaker. The colors are mostly really bright, which means they'll brighten up any outfit :)
The collection will be available on 27 march already. We can't wait :D

How To Look Taller In Flat Shoes

lol.

Hi,

Today we'll just tell you a helpful little trick :)
I always have this problem (and I bet most girls have it) that high-heels can make an outfit look really great, but flat shoes are just so much more comfortable. So when I want too look good while going out, I never know what too choose, because I just can't handle walking in high-heels for too long, but I hate looking short.
Now there's this great trick on how to look taller despite your flat shoes: choose flats that expose as much of your foot as possible. Also rolling up your pants a little can help already.
Not a very helpful trick in winter, we know that, but just something you should keep in mind. :)

Yves Rocher Volume Elixer Mascara

Hi,

I aready told you that I got gifts of Yves Rocher, because of my client card. One of those gifts was this Volume Elixer Mascara. It costs € 22,90, which is a little bit expensive for just a mascara, but I got it for free! I told you guys that you should get a client card there!

Someone already recommended me the Yves Rocher mascara's, so I had high expectations of it. I've been using this mascara for a while now and god, I just love this mascara! It does not only gives my lashes lots of volume, but it also lengthens them a lot. And what I think about most mascara's is that they feel very heavy and sticky on my lashes (that's why I normally don't use mascara a lot, only for special occacions), but with this mascara you don't even notice it's there. Also most mascara's don't keep that same length you could get with them whole day long, but with this mascara your lashes look exactly the same at the end of the day as they did in the morning.

On the packaging it says that this mascara reinforces and repairs your lashes. I can't really tell if it does that, because my lashes were already pretty healthy (because I daily use Vaseline on them). But I can tell you that normally after using mascara my lashes feel very dry and that isn't the case with this mascara.

I really, really recommend you to try this mascara out, because it's amazing! And I can't wait to try the other mascara's of Yves Rocher!

Spotted: Victoria Beckham

Hi,

I spotted Victoria Beckham looking incredible. It doesn't look like it, but she's wearing pants with a shirt tucked into it. First of all it's not easy to pull of a whole outfit in one print and second of all this type of pants is not easy to pull of either. So she proved once again to us that she is one of the queens of fashion. She really inspires me. This outfit is by the way a piece of her pre-fall collection. I also love her nude heels, they look awsome with this look.

Pantene Volume & Body Shampoo

Hi,

The main this that annoys me about my hair is that it has completely no volume. I've always wanted to have curls or at least waves, but unfortunately I'm stuck with my flat hair. So to make it a bit better I mostly use shamoo's and conditioners that give extra volume. And because I was so fond of the Pantene Youth Protect shampoo,  I decided to try the Pantene Volume & Body shampoo.
So the big question: did it work? Well actually, I didn't notice a huge difference. But I must admit, I've never had any volume shampoo that made a huge difference to my ever sleek hair. Just as the Youth Protect shampoo from Pantene my hair feels healthy, thick and soft and it looks very shiny, but I won't say it gives my much more volume.
Apart from any of this, the smell of this product is so good :) It's not very special, but nice and fresh.
Pantene isn't a very expensive brand, altough their shampoo's are pretty great :)

Dolce & Gabbana Headphones

Dolce & Gabbana brengt hoofdtelefoon van 7000 euro op de markt

Hi,

These Fashion Weeks I noticed an outstanting accessory. I'm talking about these headphones of Dolce & Gabbana in collaboration with Frends. If you don't know Frends yet, we have a whole post about this brand here. But it's basically the brand who sells the most popular and fashionable headphones ever. You definitely should check them out if you didn't know them yet. And now they collaborated with one of the biggest high-end brands ever!

The brand Frends itself already isn't that cheap, but this pair of headphones cost € 7000, which is maybe a bit to much for just a pair of heaphones, right?! But well, it is covered in Swarovski cristals. There also is an other pair covered with fox fur and jewels, these cost € 8000. Here it is:

I do think these are the fanciest headphones brought on the market in the whole headphones-history. But still the price is maybe a little too expensive, because I don't think many people can afford them.

I already had a new shirt, which I showed in my last shoplog, but now I've also got new pants! They're from Bershka and costed €9.95. They're not that special, but they're really comfortable and warm and it's easy to move in them.

Does Vaseline Grow Your Lashes?

Hi,

In our post all about Vaseline we already mentioned that Vaseline grows your lashes. But today I, Femke, want to go a bit more into this subject.

When I first heard Vaseline could grow your lashes I was trilled. My lashes are naturally black, so if I just could make them grow longer I wouldn't even have to wear mascara anymore! But before I bought some Vaseline, I did some research. Because it wouldn't be the first time people say something works when it actually doesn't. In many reviews I read that Vaseline really grows your lashes. But in other reviews I read that people were against Vaseline, because it consists petroleum, which is a chemical product. And chemical products are very bad for your body. That made me a bit scared, but I still really wanted to try it out.

A year ago I bought a little container of the classic Vaseline. And now, a year later I can share my thoughts about Vaseline with you. The little container is still half full, so Vaseline lasts a very long time. What I did is put some Vaseline on my fingers and rub it in my lashes. I daily did this every morning. This already made my lashes look a lot longer, so I used it instead of mascara.

But did it make my lashes grow any longer? Yes, in the first week I already saw some progress. And after two months my lashes were noticeable longer, thicker and healthier. But after that, I didn't notice many changes... It kind of stopped growing.

My conclusion is that when you have dry lashes and you use Vaseline, they will grow. But there will always be a limit. Just like hair, you can't grow it forever. And this is different for every person. With some people Vaseline will make there lashes grow a lot longer, but with other people not. So I suggest you try it out to see if it works out for you!

Alo I would like to say that Vaseline isn't that bad for you because it's chemical, otherwise my lashes would have fallen off, haha. ;) Maybe petroleum is not the usual beauty product, but it does moisturize your skin (and lashes) a lot!

Hiding Dark Circles With Lipstick

Hi,

I always have a lot of trouble with dark circles under my eyes.. I can solve most of the problem with my amazing concealer from The Balm, but I'm always open to new ways to get rid of my dark circles :) Recently I saw a video from Deepica Mutyala, a beauty vlogger, where she shows how to mask dark circles by applying lipstick instead of concealer. And it actually works incredibly well :o I suppose it won't work that good for people with a very pale skin, but for the rest it's really worth giving it a try!
Here's the vid:

Yves Rocher Cuticle Pusher

Hi,

Today I'm reviewing my cuticle pusher of Yves Rocher. I actually got it free, it came with a little travel manicure kit. I got this for free because I have a client card there. You get so many benifits with a client card in Yves Rocher, so I really recommend you to get one. This is already my third "gift" and I only have my client card for 2 months.

Cuticle pushers are mostly metal or wooden, but I prefer the plastic ones. They are very gentle on you cuticles and they don't hurt. Pushing back your cuticles is a must when you want to get healthy and pretty nails, but I hated it because it was always so damn painful. But that isn't the case when I push my cuticles back with this cuticle pusher and it still does its job pretty well.

So I really recommend you to get a plastic cuticle pusher! I'm not sure if you can actually buy mine in Yves Rocher, but I'm sure you will find other great ones. And there isn't really a right or wrong quality-wise with cuticle pushers, so you can get a very cheap one if you want to.

Dove Pure Care Sublime Oil Shampoo And Conditioner

Hi,

After loving the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil with Macadamia Oil, I really wanted to try out the shampoo and conditioner of this range. The products in this range are rich of good oils, like macadamia oil and coconut oil. Which can sound kind of scary for some people, because they think oils will make there hair greasy, but I promise you that's not the case. Oils are actually very good for people who have dry and frizzy hair, like me. But you can use it for all hairtypes. It's very moistrurizing. And as long you wash all the product out of your hair, you won't be left with greasy hair.

This range is actually a part of a bigger haircare range of Dove: the Advanced Hair Series. This name already makes it sound very fancy, but the packaging looks pretty fancy as well. It's also a little bit more expensive, but the bottles are a lot bigger than the usual ones, so I think it doesn't make that big of a difference.

Just like with the dry oil, the first thing I noticed was the amazing sent. And it stays on your hair for a few days. After washing your hair your hair will feel super soft. And it will also look more shiny. I can really tell that this conditoner and shampoo do good for my hair, it really makes my hair a lot healthier. And than the best thing about it (or well, at least for me): it does make my hair frizzyless! I even prefer these products over the Dove Nutritive Solutions Nourishing Oil Care shampoo and conditioner, which I already was very impressed about. Well, when the air is super dry or super humid, this product won't do its job anymore. But besides these few moments, it leaves my hair frizzy free, which I think is a miracle!

Believe me, I've never experienced such smooth and healthy hair, so I really recommend you to try this shampoo and conditioner out!

Femke's Lookbook: A Cozy Spring-Appropriate Look

Hi,

In Belgium spring has begun! I'm so happy it's finally getting a bit warmer out here! Today it was something like 17 degrees celsius, which is very unusual for Belgium. It's a lazy sunday for me, so I thought it was fun to show you my lazy outfit for the spring.

When I'm going for something cozy I automatically grab something of Brandy Melville out of my closet. Brandy Melville has the softest frabics. Today I wanted to wear this oversized flowy sweater, that you've probably seen me wearing a ton on this blog. I just really love this sweater. I love everything about it: the color, the fabric, ... And because this is the first spring-like day in Belgium, I haven't been able to wear it for a long time. With that I'm once again wearing my leggings of Zara. Please don't judge me, they're basically the coziest thing ever!

For shoes I'm wearing these flats of New Look. I got them last summer, so they're already a bit damaged, but I think they survived last summer pretty well and they were super cheap. So once again I haven't been able to wear flats for a long time, so I was very happy to wear these another time.

My necklace is from Brandy Melville. It's one of my favourite necklaces and I wear it almost daily. I thought it went great with today's look aswell.

My new obsession is this ring. It's actually a vintage ring I got from my grandmother. I have periods when I wear this ring daily to then forget about it and leave it in my jewellery box for a couple of months. Now I'm again in one of those periods that I wear this ring all the time. I just think this ring nothing like I've every seen before, which makes it very special.

Since the sun is shining bright in the sky today, I wanted to wear a pair of sunglasses. So I chose to wear these daisy sunglasses I got last summer in Six. Remember the daisy trend last summer? I hope it's still going on this summer, because I have a daisy obsession!

So that was my look of today. I really hope it stays spring now, so I can wear more oufits like these.

Rituals Rice Scrub

Hi,

I'm really in love with the brand Rituals! Everything there smells so good and despite the prices, all there products are amazing.
My lastest Rituals product (it was a gift from Femke by the way) is this Rice Scrub. Like all Rituals products, the smell is really really great. It's made of organic rice milk and cherry blossom so  it has a very special scent, kind of floral.
It's a calming shower cream scrub, which means it's a bit more gentle on the skin than a normal scrub, yet it's very effective. The rice milk nourishes the skin and leaves it all soft and silky.
I use this scrub once a week and I'm really happy with the effect it has on my skin. A soft skin is really a must for me and, in combination with body lotion, this scrub from Rituals really works for me.

Topshop Eyelash Curler

Hi,

Maia recently made a post about her Barbara Hofmann eyelash curler, so I thought it was about time to review my eyelash curler. Just like Maia I love the effect I get with my eyelash curler and I use it daily.

I bought my eyelash curler 2 years ago in Topshop. It wasn't pricey at all and it works pretty good. The only negative thing about it is that the rubber part where your lashes rest on is cut in half as you can see on this picture:

This is very bad for your lashes! Like this it's possible that I cut my lashes in half, so I really need to get a new eyelash curler. This is actually already my second rubber thing, because it came with two (like Topshop already knew it's bad quality). And okay, these rubber things still lasted me both 1 year, but you shouldn't have to buy a new eyelash curler yearly! So just like Maia, I'm probably going to buy a more expesive eyelash curler.

How To Make Your Nails Stronger

(65) crystal nails | via Tumblr

Hi,

A while ago I made a post on how to protect your nails from getting weaker in winter, but I actually forgot a very important, yet simple tip. You can make your nails a lot stronger by painting the inside of your nails. You can do this with clear nail polish or with special nail polish to strongen your nails.
I've done this a few times now, when my nails finally grow a bit and I really don't want them to break, and it really helps. You don't have to apply a lot of it and it's enough to apply it once a week.

Spotted: Kendall Jenner

Hi,

Monochrome looks are really in fashion lately. And I have to admitt that I go along with this trend too. I think you always look put together wearing a complete black-and-white outfit, because this style is very chic and modern.

Kendall Jenner seems to like monochrome looks as well.  She chose to wear white pants, a white shirt, a white blazer with some black detailing and black heels. And she looks amazing, like always.

Her hair is in a effortless bun, which I think goes great with this look. Her make up is kept pretty basic. And she isn't wearing any accessoires. So as you can see she didn't put much effort in her look, but it still looks amazing.

Air Drying Your Hair The Right Way

air dry air drying hair the beauty department

Hi,

In our post on how to avoid split ends, wetold you that it's best to air dry your hair after you've washed it. Many people don't like to air dry their hair because it's prettier when they use a hair dryer, but when that's the case you're probably air drying your hair all wrong! Now this is what you need to know about air drying your hair:
- As you see in the first picture, you have to comb your hair first. I've heard many people say you loose more hair when you comb it when it's wet, but I can assure you this isn't true :) It's best to use a comb with wide tooths on wet hair.
- In the second picture the girl is using some kind of special product for air drying. Personally I don't use any of those, although I sometimes try a bit of volume foam.
- If you've read our post about avoiding split ends you know already that it's best to wrap a towel around your hair to let it dry. Never scrub with it, just gently squeeze. :)
- This is also the perfect moment to try some sort of no-heat curls! We've made plenty posts about those and I always try one of them on my wet hair. A bun can give your hair a nice wave too and it also helps against hair that's too puffy.

Shoplog: Louvain-La-Neuve

Hi,

So last week I went shopping in Louvain-La-Neuve. I'd never been there before, but it's a lovely city with a lot of great shops and a huge shopping center. Of course I couldn't leave a shopping center without buying something, so here's my shoplog.
I didn't buy that much because I'm a bit short on money at the moment, so it was just some stuff I really needed:

I recently started running again, so I needed some proper running shirt. H&M has a great sportswear collection, so that is where I bought this shirt. The color doesn't come out that good on the picture, but it's actually fluo pink. I really like the look of it, but also how it feels. It's made of a soft and thin fabric that feels comfortable but also warm.
Last time I went shopping I bought some hair ties from H&M without that metal thingy that's bad for your hair, but as you might have read in my review, they're not that great, because they stretch out very easily. I'm still not going back to regular hair ties, so I decided to test out something new.  I got these hair ties from Hema and they costed €4.95. A review comes soon of course.
And I also bought this super cute erasor!  Doesn't really belong on a fashion blog but I'm just really happy with it :) It's from some small outlet store and only costed me €2.
