Strobing

Hi,

If you don't know contouring yet, it's a technique where you highlight parts of your face to make them pop by using a shade 2 tones lighter than your skin tone and contour other parts with a shade two tones darker than your own skin tone to make these parts of your face recede. This creates a slimmer face with sharper features.

But there is a new trend now, called strobing. With strobing you only focus on highlighting your face. You apply your highlighter generously on the parts of your face that naturally hit the light. This creates a very dewy and glowy look. Here is a tutorial made by Amelia Liana on how you can achieve a strobing look.

As you may have seen in the video, strobing is a lot easier than contouring. It also looks more natural than a matte contoured face and makes your skin look very healthy. Of course, don't overdo it with a very glittery highlighter, because than it won't look natural at all!

I really like this trend and I think it perfect for a summery look!

High Buns Spotted On The Runway

Hi,

According to Weekendknack, a famous fashion magazine from Belgium, high buns are a great trend on the runway lately. On the picture above you can see the russian model Natasha Poly looking georgeous with her bun, but also the Marc Jacobs show on New York Fashion Week was overwhelmed by this simple but cute hairstyle.
Most buns are as high, messy and voluminous as possible. For some people this is easy to make, but for others (like me unfortunatly) it's a bit harder because of thin hair for example. For these people I found a tutorail on how to add more volume to your bun:

Maia's Lookbook: A Simple Outfit

Hi,

Today I went to meet a friend of mine in our favorite little café in Leuven. I was really happy because it had been a while since we saw each other, but my mood was a bit ruined by the weather. It was a bit cold and very rainy today. I was a really disapointed because I was already getting used to the sunny, warm wheater this summer and I always love to show of with my summer clothes, especially since I bought a bunch of new pieces at the sales this month. But since I didn't get a chance to wear them today, I tried to make the best of it wearing this outfit:

I decided to wear my boyfriend jeans from Garcia. I'm really glad I have these, because they're really comfy but look good at the same time and besides they're of great quality. I loathe it when my jeans start to wear out, because I find it rather hard to find a good fitting pair. So this time I got a pair of jeans from a better brand (usually I get mine at H&M, Bershka and stores like that). But okay, back to todays outfit. I combined my jeans with a tight fitting black shirt with long sleeves. It's a very basic shirt and usually I'm not that fond of basic pieces but this one, from H&M, has been a great purchase. It fits perfectly and I love the elegant neckline. Black usually doesn't look that good on me because I naturally have a very pale skin and it makes my skin look even paler, but since we had a few sunny days earlier I've tanned a bit, so now I can pull it off just fine.

A little close up of my choice of jewelry for today. The main reason I kept my look this simple is so that I could wear a lot of jewelry. The three necklaces are from H&M (I mentioned them before in a shoplog) and they look great when layered. The gold looks very bright on my black shirt, which makes the jewelry even more eye catching. The three thin bracelets are from New Look and the larger one is vintage.

To complete my outfit I picked out my black heels to wear underneath it. They're from H&M and I love how they make all of my outfits look so much more put together. They're not very comfortable to walk with, but since all I had to do today was sitting down and drinking smoothies, it didn't bother me. ;)

Hope I inspired you with my  sunday look. This is one of my favorite outfits to wear because it's pretty simple, but kind of special at the same time. I love the combination of my black heels and my oversized jeans and the tight black shirt makes the whole a bit more elegant and feminine.

Rituals Himalaya Scrub

Hi,

After trying the Rituals Honey Touch body cream and the Rituals Yogi Flow foaming shower gel, I really wanted to try the scrub of this range as well. It's called the Himalaya scrub and it contains sweet almond oil and Indian rose. The other products of this range contained Himalaya honey instead of the sweet almond oil, but this product has Himalaya salt in it as well. It kind of smells the same, very sweet and flowery, but it's a little bit different as the two other products I've tried. But I love this smell as well!

Maia once reviewed Rituals' Rice scrub, which I also bought and loved. I'm not as fond of this scrub as I am with that one though... Okay, this scrub is great too and does wonders on your skin, but one thing I don't like about it is that the salt dissolves very quickly, which makes you use a lot more of it than you should. Another thing I don't like that much is that it's very oily. Which is good, because it leaves your skin feeling extremely soft, but the packaging is always soaked in oil, which really bothers me. Other than that, there is one more thing that really bothers me, when I first opened it I took this picture:

Okay, it might look like nothing is wrong with it, but it's only half full! And I' really being honest here! Rituals' products are already more expensive then others, so I would like to get a great value for my money and not a half full product!

So no, I wouldn't buy this product again. Because it's very expensive. But don't get me wrong, it's a lovely scrub. I just think it costs a little too much for that little of product you get and the fact that it always gets used up very quickly. But if you don't have a problem with spending lots of money on great products, than I do recommend it to you.

Bohemian Festival Hairstyles

Hi,

Festival hairstyles should be sweatproof, rainproof and danceproof. So today I thought it would be a good idea (since it's the festival season) to show you some hairstyles that are perfect to wear on a festival and still look good all day and night long.

It's of course different for everyone. I have for example frizzy hair, so any hairstyle will start to look frizzy after some time, no mather what product I use to hold the hairstyle in place. And this will happen even faster if I move (dance) a lot. So I would go for something simple and little that I know would last the whole day and night. So it's really about knowing your own hair and how it holds a hairstyle.

I'm going to show you some simple and more complicated bohemian hairstyles. Bohemian, because that's basically every festival's fashion theme. Here they are:

One of the easiest ways to have awesome hair on a festival is to rock a flowercrown. Leave your hair in its natural state or create pretty waves or curls.

hair | via Facebook
You can also rock a flower crown and a beautiful hairstyle together. I know this won't stay pretty the whole day on my hair, but if it will on yours than go for it! You can make a braid, a french braid, a fishtailbraid or maybe even a french fishtailbraid like on this picture.

Trendy Inspiration • | via Facebook
Or you can wear your flowercrown with some more advanced hairstyles that will take you a little more practice and time, but will make people looking at you the whole time.

G
Another way of wearing flowers in your hair is this one. Buy some flowerpins or pin some real flowers in your hair with the help of some bobbypins. This will not look great on straight hair though, so you should better curl your hair or if you have natural curly hair you can leave it as it is of course. You do have to make sure the flowers are pretty secure, so they won't fall out of your hair while dancing.

❤️
You can of course also wear these flowerpins or real flowers in your hairstyle like on this picture. This hairstyle is basically the definition of a bohemian hairstyle. I know it's actually a hairstyle Mimi Ikonn once made on her youtubechannel Luxyhair so I'll link that video here. But you can also put your flowers in a normal braid, a french braid, a dutch braid, a fishtailbraid or whatever hairstyle you prefer.

trends4everyone
One of the hairstyles that will always be pretty secure no mather how the weather is and how much you dance, is a bun. You can go for a classic messy bun or for a ballerina-perfect low bun. Or you can go for a more complicated and special hairstyle like on this picture. And remember: the more braids and messyness, the more bohemian your hairstyle will look.

<3
Another sort of hairstyle that will hold a long time with whatever hairtype you have is a ponytail. Again you can go with a classic high or low (or in the middle) ponytail or you can make your ponytail a little bit more special with some braids going on. With this you again have so many options! And a ponytail is perfect for when you dance.

☁️☀️
With classic pigtails on a festival you can't go wrong either. You can again make them a little more special by for example creating french pigtails like on this picture.

Hippie
You can also just put some little messy braids or fishtailbraids in your hair, this will always look very bohemian and festival-ready. This is the sort of hairstyle that I know will last on my hair the whole day and night and won't loosen up while dancing.

Double braided hair style **#""*#
You can even pin your braids back like on this picture and it will still look great and last a long time.

Cool hairstyle ❤
Or you can combine your little braids in one big braid.

So many options... But remember to stay with a hairstyle that goes the best with your hairtype otherwise it won't hold the whole festival long. And also remember to put lots of flowers in your hair, they will make any hairstyle more bohemian and more perfect for your festival.

I hope this helped you to have the perfect hair on whatever festival you're going to.

xoxo

Lily-Rose Depp As The New Face Of Chanel

Hi,

Lily-Rose Depp, daughter of the famous Jonny Depp, is only 16 but already face of Chanel. Her mother was also a ambasatrice of the brand and earlier this year Lily-Rose took part in Chanel's Haute Couture show.
Personally I really love the campaign. Lily-Rose looks beautiful and her look is very inspiring. On the other hand many people believe that her poses in this new campaign are too provocative. Especially because she's still so young.

Shoplog: Workout Clothes of Primark

Hi,

So I recently went to Primark and they had some cute and super cheap workout clothes, so I had to buy some. Workout clothes are normally pretty expensive, especially if your going to buy them from popular brands like Nike and Addidas. So I was very happy to see Primark's cheap range! This is what I bought:

I bought these shorts for € 5. They fit nice and the quality seems pretty good as well. I love this greyish color, because it goes with a lot.

I bought the shorts also in its longer version. These leggings fit me great too and it's made out of the same light sweat-proof fabric that's great to workout with. They were € 7.

The last thing I bought was this sportstop. This cost only € 4. Even though the label said this was a sportsbra, I don't think it would support your boobs that well, so I would use it as a top. I love this sky-blue colour, which goes great with the pants I bought as well. This is made out of a thicker fabric, but the label still said it was sweat-proof, so I think it's perfect to sport in!

I love my new workout clothes and I really recommend you to take a look at Primark's workout collection, because the quality seems good and it's way cheaper than all my other workout clothes I've bought so far.

Yves Rocher Shea Lip Balm

 Hi,

Now it's summer it's important to stay hydratated. You need to drink a lot and use after sun, but also don't forget your lips! I recenltly bought this shea lip balm from Ives Rocher to nourish my lips.
It costed only €2 thanks to my new client card. I really recommand all of you to go and take one of these client cards because it has so many benefits. Every month there are new discounts on all kinds of products and i just love it!
But now about this lip balm again. The main contents are shea butter and macadamia oil. Shea butter is said to have a creamy texture and to be very hydratating. Macadamia oil on the other hand is moisturing and nourishing.

The balm has indeed a very creamy texture, but for me it's actually a bit too soft. I don't really know how to describe why, but I like the texture for vaseline more on my lips. It's less sticky, which is a plus, but due to this soft texture it doesn't stay on my lips a long time. I need to reapply it after about half an hour otherwise my lips begin to feel dry again.
My lips weren't really dry when I tested this lip balm, so I don't know if it really helps to repair, but I do know that this lip balm softens my lips a lot.
I  love the special scent of the shea butter and it's also great how easy it is to apply. I like this kind of lip balms better than the ones you need to apply with your finger, way more practical, and it's easy to carry with you because of the small shape.

Rosewater as a Makeupremover

Hi,

Rosewater is a soothing water often used as a natural tonic or facial cleanser. You can use it on all skin types. Many people claim it prevents wrinkles and opens up your pores.

I have been using rosewater for a while now after I removed my makeup, to get every little piece of dirt that was still left on my face. I haven't seen big differences since I use it, but it did decrease the size of my pores a little bit. It also smells amazing and feels very refreshing.

Recently I was out of my makeupremover, so I decided to use the rosewater on its own. And I've been loving it! It removes my makeup better than any other makeupremover I have ever tried. What I don't know if is it removes waterproof makeup as well, because I don't own any waterproof makeup. And it's free of any harsh chemicals. As I mentioned before it also has some benifits for your skin.

I buy this rosewater in Essenza for € 8,99. I love that's in a spraybottle, which makes it super easy to use: I just spray some on my face and remove it with a cotton pad.

I really recommend it both as a makeupremover and as a facial cleanser. And I even sometimes use it as a body mist. This is such a great multiple-use product.

Spotted: Anja Rubik

Hi,

Anja Rubik was spotted and I love her outfit, so I really wanted to share ik with you beautiful people! She chose for a bohemian and casual summer look.

She was wearing a white shirt that she left very unbuttoned for a sexy look. Than she was wearing this special blazer on top of it. Both pieces look like they were stolen from a man's closet. And she can totally pull it of!

For a more summery look she chose to wear shorts. And I'm obsessed with her shorts, because they are the perfect blue! She was also wearing a manly belt with it, which makes her outfit complete.

The more bohemian twist on this look are her sandals and her bag. They actually don't go with her outfit, but somehow she knows how to pull it of and make it look absolutly gorgeous together.

Really love this look! This is deffinitely going to be an inspiration for my summer outfits.

Inecto Pure Coconut Smoothing Hair Serum

Hi,

I recently discovered a new brand in Kruidvat(= a Dutch drugstore) called Inecto. Their products are paraben free and mostly made out of natural ingredients. I'm all about natural products, but they're mostly not avaible at the drugstore. So I'm very excited to try this brand out! They don't sell a huge range to chose from in Kruidvat (yet). There is only a shampoo, a conditioner, a hair mask and a hair serum avaible. I wanted to buy it all, but since it might not work I decided to try one of their products out first. So I chose the smoothing hair serum made out of 100% pure coconut oil.

I expected it to be like the Yves Rocher Nutrition Hair Repair Balm, which is my favourite hair product ever. But it's nothing like it, since it's an oil. So I rather not use it on dry hair, but on towel-dry-hair. After washing my hair I usually use the Dove Pure care Dry Oil with African Macadamia Oil, but I think it's nice to have an alternative to switch it up once in a while.

I have used coconut oil on my hair before as a mask and it does wonders! My hair has never felt as soft, been as frizzy-free and looked as healthy as after I let coconut oil soak in my hair for lets say 30 minutes. I do think it's a bit messy, since you're working with an oil. And I also think it's hard to wash out of your hair. This hair serum is somehow a lot easier to use.

But I don't see the same results as with using coconut oil as an hairmask. Don't get me wrong, it is great, just not as great. But I still love it. It kind of has the same effect as the Dove Pure care Dry Oil with African Macadamia Oil: it makes my hair frizzy-free, less dry and just a lot healthier in general.

This product also has an amazing scent. Which I didn't expect it to be, because I don't like the scent of coconuts at all. It still smells kind of coconutty, but to me it smells more like biscuits.

So I really recommend it as a hairoil. If you don't use a hairoil yet, I also really recommend you to start doing it! I see so many differences with my hair now and a year ago, before I started using hairoils. My hair is a lot healthier and less frizzy! Even if you don't have dry or frizzy hair, I still recommend you to try it out. And it doesn't make your hair greasy (except if you use way to much or if you use it on your roots, if you just use a little amount on the ends of your towel-dry hair, it won't be greasy at all).

Femke's Lookbook: My Workout Outfit

Hi,

Today I wanted to do something different and show you my workout outfit, because I know you guys love to read workout related fashion posts. And I do too, because wearing something you like while working out gives you a lot more motivation. So this is the workout outfit I've been wearing a lot lately.

I recently bought this Nike sportsbra on Asos and I love it! I love its fun and colourful pattern. The picture doesn't show of how bright it is in real life. It also fits perfectly and does its job to keep the ladies in place while sporting.

These basic shorts are from H&M. I whish I had special sportshorts as well, but damn sportwear is expensive, so now I sport with these shorts who work just fine too.

And these shoes you've probably seen a lot before, because they're my Nike Rosh Run ID's and they're basically my favourite shoes ever. And besides wearing the with casual outfits, I also love to workout in these shoes. They are very comfortable and I love them specially to go running.

That was my workout outfit, hope you liked it!

Rituals Yogi Flow Foaming Shower Gel

Hi,

I recently reviewed the Rituals Honey Touch body cream, which I love. This foaming shower gel is from the same range, because it has the same ingredients in it: Indian rose and Himalaya Honey. So it also smells kind of the same: very sweet and flowery. But this foaming shower gel is called Yogi Flow. I love that they give every product a different name. This proves that Rituals really put a lot of thought in there products.

Maia once already reviewed the Yogi Flow foaming shower gel, but that's a long time ago and the ingredients actually changed now! Back than it contained Indian rose and sweet almond oil, which also sounds pretty great. Another thing I love of Rituals is that they use (mostly) natural ingredients for there products. But okay, so I don't know why they've changed the sweet almond oil in Himalaya honey, but I guess it probably smells kind of the same now as back then, because both the sweet almond oil and the Himalaya honey are sweet scents.

The product itself is awesome. It foams a lot, which makes you first of all use less of it and second of all it's just a lot of fun to use! I really love Rituals' foaming shower gels! And I think I prefer them over any other shower gel.

Maia has also reviewed the Sunrise foaming shower gel, so maybe you would like to read that post as well if you're into these foaming gels just as much as I am!

Essenza's Watermelon Lip Balm

Hi,

I recenlty bought myself a new lip balm at Essenza. It only costed about €2 and the package is so cute that I just couldn't leave it! It has a watermelon smell, which is heavenly, and it also tastes really sweet.

I also  really like the bright color it has! You don't see much of it after applying it, it just leaves a glossy shine. This lipbalm contains vitamine E in it, which keeps your lips healthy and shiny and helps to repair damage from sunrays.

Essie Blanc

Hi,

So I made this promise to myself to invest in better quality nail polishes. And since Essie is one of the most popular brands of nail polish, I really wanted to buy one of their nail polishes. So I went for the colour 'Blanc', because I've never been able to find a very pigmented white nail polish.

And yes, this is a very pigmented white! I got perfect white with only one coat! So just for that I think Essie is worth its more expensive price.

I also expected this nail polish to last a long time, but unfortunately it didn't... It only stayed perfectly for 3 days. So I'm quit dissapointed about that... Not that I've ever found a nail polish to last me longer than 3 days.

I did expect that the Essie nail polishes would last me longer, but besides that I'm pretty happy with this brand. Their nail polish isn't only very pigmented, I also love the brush and the way it applies on your nails. So I think I'm still going to invest in their products.

Spotted: Jeanne Damas

Hi,

Jeanne Damas was spotted at the Valentino Spring/Summer 2016 show, wearing this inspiring outfit (designed by Valentino of course).
I love how this look is very simple and chic at the same time. You can't do anything wrong with a black dress, especially when it's as pretty as this one. I personally really love long sleeved dresses, because they look so elegant. Jeanne chose to wear a simple pair of gold sandals that bring the final touch. Her lipstick is a bit more eye catching and lays focus on her face.

Shoplog: Brandy Melville in Brussels

Hi,

So I recently went to the Brandy Melville in Brussels. And it was the nicest Brandy Melville I've ever been to. There even was a photo booth, can it even get better?! The decor was very cozy and hipster-like as well. Here are some snaps I took there:

Even though there are sales here in Belgium, there weren't any sales going on in Brandy Melville. But that didn't stop me from buying something.

I bought this cute shorts for € 22,00. I think they are perfect for the summer. Brandy Melville sells these type of shorts in many different prints and it was very hard for me to chose just one, but eventually I went for these and I really like them!

I also fell in love with this ring so I had to buy it. At first I didn't really like it, because I first of all don't really like silver jewellery (gold just suits my skincolour better) and second of all this is not really my type of ring. But my friend put it on and when it's on it looks gorgeous as you can see on this picture below:

So I bought it and have been wearing it non-stop since. I think it just looks so cool. And it only cost € 4! Hopefully the quality is great too, but I will let you know more about that soon.

So that was my fun trip to the Brandy Melville in Brussels. If you're ever planning on going to Brussels I really recommend you to take a look there!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil

Hi,

You probably heard lots of this product already. It's very popular and many people love this. Since they claim it makes pimples disappear and I have acne, I really wanted to give this product a go.

I use this in the evening after I applied my cleanser, toner, serum and moistrurizer. These are the 4 most important steps of your evening skin care routine, so using this tea tree oil is kind of an extra thing for me. It's very important that you use it lastly, because it needs a little bit more time to soak in. But not that long, because I'm actually quit surprised how fast it soaks in for an oil!

I use 2 drops for my entire face (or well, just my T-zone). Some people use this just on there pimples, but since I have very much acne, I spread it all over my face.

One of my biggest concerns about using this product was that I would wake up with a very oily skin. But as I already mentioned, it soaks in very quickly and it even makes me wake up with a less oily skin then normally.

But now, does it work? Actually I'm not that fond about it... Many people claim it makes your pimple disappear just when you put a little bit of this product on it. But I don't think it's that miraculous. It does help a little bit with decreasing the amount of pimples you have, but it needs some time.

Don't get me wrong, I do like this product and I would repurchase it, but I just don't think it's that wonderful as many people say it is. So don't have to high hopes about this.

Maybelline Baby Lips Electro

Hi,

If you've read my post of Maybelline's Baby Lips, you know I love these tinted lipbalms. It's great if you're just a schoolgirl like me and you're not allowed to wear heavily makeup to school. It's also just great if you're starting out with makeup and want to try more subtle products first. And it's also very cheap and it lasts a long time (I wrote a post on that as well, because it really lasts a surprisingly long time).

I wanted to expand my collection of Baby Lips, because I litteraly use them daily. On We Heart It I always saw this range of Baby Lips called Electro, but I never saw them in the stores. Or well not here in Belgium. But when I saw them on Asos, I really wanted to buy a couple.

So I bought 'Oh! Orange!' and 'Strike a rose'. There are more outstanding colours too, like purple and green, but I still like to go fore more natural lips and these two colours seemed very nice.

'Oh! Orange!' smells really like orange, which I actually don't like about it. I think it's just a weird smell to have on your lips. 'Strike a rose' does smell awesome. It reminds me of 'Pink Punch' (which is one of the classic Baby Lips), but then less heavy. So it has a very feminine smell (sorry, I can't describe it better than that...). But then I like the colour of 'Oh! Orange!' more than of 'Strike a rose'. 'Oh! Orange!' gives your lips this subtle peachy shine and I adore it. You sure can build the colour up, but I like to keep it natural. But 'Strike a rose' is very pigmented (even though it doesn't really shows that of on the swatch on my hand). Which I geuss many people really like about it, but I love Baby Lips for there natural look. I still like this Baby Lips, but I just don't grab for it as much as with the others.

So I really like these Baby Lips as well and I would recommend them to you guys!

Spotted: Jennifer Lawrence

Hi,

Jennifer Lawrence was spotted looking fabulous in this summery outfit. She is wearing a whole black outfit and she is deffinitely rocking it. And her golden clutch is a detail that makes this outfit more special. I'm obsessed with her cropped top and skirt, which looks very chic without being trashy. And her heels fit perfectly with this outfit.

Besides her outfit her hair is on point as well. She has beachy waves, but it still looks great with her chic outfit.

Love this whole look!
