DIY Hair Mask

Hi,

I recently saw a really interesting video on how to make a hair mask out of coconut oil and jojoba oil which I really wanted to share with you!

I was already using both kind of oils on my hair before I saw this video, but never this much and mostly not combined. But since I already had both of the oils I decided to try it out at once after seeing this vid. And guess what, it is really just as wonderful as she said in the video! I've used it twice in the meantime and the second time my hair was a lot shinier and softer than after the first time, which means it also benefits your hair on long terms. My hair didn't look as beautiful as Kayleys, but I maybe when I use it more often it will.

A Very Small Shoplog

Hi,

Today I'll write a veeery short shoplog about what I bought in presales. It's not a lot, but better than nothing, right!

The only clothing item I bought is this oversized cropped top from Pull and Bear. It's a rather basic one I think, but I lacked some basic items in my closet so let's say I kind of needed it. I wore it a couple of times already and I'm totally in love with it! It's very comfy because of the wide fit but still so stylish.

The second thing I bought is this super cute little book. I needed something to use as a picture album (call me oldfashioned, but I prefer having my pictures printed out) and this one is just so adorable!

I know it's not a lot but I hope you enjoyed my post anyway. I'll definitely be writing a real sales shoplog too and that one will be bit longer and a bit more interesting :)

Essence Galaxy Lights Topcoat

Hi,

One of the things I got in my Essence Nail Advent Calendar was this topcoat called 'Galaxy Lights'. It's this almost transparant nail polish filled with little glitters. Since these glitters have this beautiful pink sheen, I decided to put this pink nail polish underneath (it's from Essie and the colour is called 'Need a Vacation').

I love these two combined! This topcoat is very subtle, but from up close you can see its pretty glittery effect, which is like a nice surprise. I wouldn't say you need to get this topcoat, because honestly: it isn't that special. But it's something nice to change up your regular nail polishes with.

Baby Powder as a Dry Shampoo

Hi,

We probably all agree that greasy hair is one of the most annoying things ever. It's just makes you feel very gross... Unfortunately, my hair gets very quickly greasy. But washing you're hair at a daily basis isn't good for your hair at all. And lets be honest here: dry shampoo isn't too great for your hair either. So I was searching for some alternatives and I read baby powder is often used as a dry shampoo. I really wanted to try this out, because baby products are in general a lot better for you since they consist less of any harsh chemicals than other products.

I bought this baby powder from Zwitsal. You need to sprinkle a bit on your hair, which as first looks a bit crazy, but after you massaged it in your roots you can't see any of this white powder anymore. I think it definitely does make my hair less greasy. But it doesn't last the whole day and who has time to reapply this? Well, no one does! And it doesn't leave you feeling fresh or anything... It does smell nice though, but that's like the only thing I really love about it. So I was a bit disappointed... Don't get me wrong, it does work, but not as miraculous as everyone seemed to say.

Six Hair Ties

Hi,

I know I'm doing these way too much, but I'll give you another hairtie review today! It's just that I was trying out as many special hairties as possible over the last half year.

So again the main raison I bought these is because they don't have the metal part which causes hair breakage. These hairties were from Six and I think they were about €2. Since my last hairties were all neon coloured I tried out black ones again.
They are about the same qualities as the bright coloured ones from H&M. They don't hold up my hair as well as most regular hairties so you can't make every hairstyle with them.
Another disadventage is that they're not that comfortable to wear around your wrist. Mainly because they're pretty small so it hurts after a while.
As you can see on the picture thet stretch out a little bit but it is actually better than it looks. Mostly when you take then ot of your hair they're stretched out a lot but after a while they go back to their normal size (which my friends call magic). This is a great adventage because you can wrap them around as many times as possible without totally ruining them.

So not the best hair ties ever, although they look pretty fancy...

Maia's Lookbook: a Look to Brighten up the Winter

Hi,

At the moment the weather is really not wintery here. Not that you'll hear me complain about that! I love snow and Christmas and all but I get cold really easily and I'm not that into big coats, so this wheather is a christmas gift from God for me.
Since I'm done with my exam since last week I went out a lot and I wanted to share one of my outfits with you!
Lately I'm all into boyfriend jeans, so I've got myself a few of them, like this dark blue one from Esprit. The only problem I always have is that I can't find many ways to pair my jeans, but this time I think I found out a pretty great outfit! I combined it with my white shirt from Springfield. I really adore this shirt, especially the fabric it's made of! You can't really see it on the picture but it feels and looks very special. It also has this cute little lace-flowery border which makes my look a bit more girly.
I know that the best way to combine boyfriend jeans is with high heels, but I rather wear flats when I know I have to walk a lot. Also the city I mostly go to has a lot of cobblestones, which looks very beautiful but is a curse for girls who love high heels. So anyway I decided to go with my light brown brogues from New Look. They're really my best buy ever. They were very cheap and they go with just every outfit
I really love how my backpack from Primark totally makes this look complete. I has the exact right colors and suits the style too! I must admit that it looks a little bit scruffy, although I haven't got it so long, but yeah Primark quality...
So I really loved this outfit and I hope you do too!

Hema Foaming Shower Gel

Hi,

Okay, I know I have to stop reviewing almost only things from Rituals, but it's just that I love that brand so much! But hey, that's why I tried something different for a change! It's a foaming shower gel from Hema. If you didn't know it yet (than where the hell have you been, because...): foaming shower gels are huge in Rituals. They're like one of their specialities. But okay we do know Rituals isn't a extremely cheap brand... So it's always nice to search for new (and cheaper) look-a-likes.

Hema is a Dutch brand that also has shops around Belgium. So if you're ever around the Netherlands or Belgium go check out their shops, because they have very cute and nice things in there! But back to what I was originally talking about: this product.

This foaming shower gel is the sweet, charming and seductive one, and wow now I just described its scent as well! So yes, it does smell nice or that's at least what I think of it.

I wouldn't say though that it's as nice and foamy as the ones from Rituals... But it's okay. It's an okay alternative, but it do still prefer Rituals their products.

Essie Millionails Base Coat

Hi,

A base coat is a very important step in your manicure routine! It protects your nails from the polish you're putting on top and it even has some benefits for your nails themself. I think it's something worth to invest in since you do a long time with it. So I bought the Essie Millionails Base Coat.

And I do really like this base coat! I wouldn't say it does wonders to my nails, but it is pretty nice. First of all I find my nail polish lasts a lot longer when I wear this base coat underneath. And second of all, it makes my nails healthier. I don't find it really a repairing product, but it does prevent my nails from braking even more, so that's just lovely!

I really recommend this base coat. I'm probably going to buy it a multiple other times, but I might try some of the other base coats Essie sells as well. Than you can obviously expect another review!

Shoplog: The First Sales of 2016

Hi,

Yesterday, I went shopping on the first day of the January sales. I went to Antwerp and honestly it was a bit too crazy there... After a while I even got tired of this huge crowd going crazy on the sales, which never happened to me before. In the morning it was a little more quit in the streets of Antwerp, so I was able to pick up a few things then, that I'm going to show you now.

Well, first I'm showing you a few things I got as a gift from my aunt right before the sales started:

In the Sting my aunt got me this fluffy coat and I'm going to admit it: I'm obsessed with it! It looks pretty heavy, but it actually feels light even though it really doesn't leave you cold. And it only cost € 35,00, which I think is cheap for a coat.

Next she gave me this top from Forever 21. I've wanted a top like this for a long time now! It's cropped and has a lacy bit on the bottom. And if I remember right it cost € 18,00.

Okay, now it's time to show you the things I actually bought in the sales yesterday:

First I went to Urban Outfitters. Besides a necklace and my Tangle Teezer, I never owned anything from Urban Outfitters before. It's just a bit to pricey for me... So I thought it would be a good idea to have a look in their shop during the sales, because Urban Outfitters is so my style! And wow, I didn't expect this many sales in their store! But I still just got one thing: this sweater. Before it cost € 55,00, but I got it for € 27,00. I really love this sweater and I'm actually wearing it right now as I'm writing this post. It's very cozy and the quality seems to be great.

Than I went to Zara where I got this pair of gray jeans. Since gray is my favorite colour clothing wise, I thought I really needed gray jeans and I found the perfect pair! They are these skinny mid waist jeans from Zara. Zara's jeans never fitted me before, but these are kind of on the small and short side, which make them perfect for me! I also just love their fit: they almost feel like a pair of leggings on. I got them for € 29,99 on the sales, but normally they would have cost me € 39,95. I can't wait to wear them and pair gray on gray, which is kind of a trend lately.

I obviously went to Brandy Melville too! And okay, they don't have great sales. This time they also just had one single rack of clothing items on sale, which isn't that amazing. But I did find this cute stripy shirt in there. I can't own too many of these shirts, because they are so soft and also really easy to combine. This shirt cost € 20,00, but I got it for only € 10,00 in the sales!

Like usual, I needed to buy something of Brandy Melville's jewelry line. So I got this fine ring with an eye on. I think it looks very cool and different. This wasn't on sales and it cost me € 4,00.

And just like in my last shoplog where I also went to Brandy Melville, I got some free stickers with my purchase! Cute, huh?!

These were the things I got on the first day with sales in 2016! And ohh, before I forget: I wish you all a very happy New Year! I'm already happy with my successful first day of shopping in 2016 and I hope you had some nice first days of 2016 as well!
