How To Protect Your Hair In Winter

 winter | Tumblr

Hi,

Last summer we made a post on how to protect your hair from the sun, but did you know that you also have to protect your hair in winter? Indoor heathing can dry out your hair as much as the sun can and cold weather can also be damaging.
Indoor heating is very damaging and you can even compair it to using a hair dryer the entir afternoon. Using hot showers is also not good. This can dry out both your hair and your skin.
Something else to keep in mind while showering is conditioner. The key to healthy hair in winter is using conditioner every time after washing and not using too much shampoo. Best is to choose for a moisturizing shampoo.
Make sure you never go outside with wet hair. This is probably something your parrents used to tell you all the time, but guess what, they were right because it's really bad for your hair. When it's freezing outside, your wet hair can 'freeze' too and that can cause it to break. To protect your hair from cold wind, you can also wear some kind of had or a scarf. You loose a lot of body heat trough your head by the way, so it'll help keeping you warm too.
And don't forget that using heat on your hair, like styling or curling, is also really bad, especially now in combination with indoor heating. We know it's really tempting for those who get frizzy hair because of the weather, but you can better find some good anti-frizz product.
Others may have problems with static hair, but there's also something to do about that. First of all, drik a lot of water. Otherwise you can try some kind of moisturizer for your hair.
